Enjoyed watching this edit.. Sets out to achieve what it wants - that is the whole movie without the flab of romantic subplot in the first half .
Still think the ending doesnt hit as hard as it should because that whole subplot of carlito and gail has been majorly edited , maybe the better choice would be to retain those earlier scenes but to edit them instead of omitting them completely.

Minor issue aside, the edit improves upon the original release which dragged in places and thus provides an engaging and enjoyable experience.
