Great edit. For myself and wife revisting the series it was a great way to interpret the series and for my daughter who had never seen it before it made her a life long fan of the series (which includes buying the overpriced T's at the mall).

Just reviewing The Prophecy here.

Big fan! Love the concept. I wanted to rewatch Buffy but didn't have the time or patience to sit through it all again. There's a lot of repeated exposition in the original episodes, as the editor pointed out, and a lot of very ropey martial arts. This cut just gets straight to the core plot involving Angel and the Master, but it still retains the humour and the charm. The gang are all still there. Cordelia loses out the most, if I remember the originals correctly.

There are a couple of plot holes, mostly towards the end, where characters seem to know more than they should (e.g. Cordelia suddenly seems very keen to help in act 3) or love interests or new characters appear with no lead-in (Giles's love interest and Cordelia's guy). I agree with the previous reviewer who pointed out that the scene with Buffy's dad seems very out of place as it's not framed as a dream (unless I spaced out for a second and missed the framing). The stuff with the annointed one (the kid) is underdeveloped too, as the prophecy isn't really fleshed out enough to know who he is or what he's doing there. The scene before Buffy's burial also just pops out of nowhere, with the kid talking to her like he knows her and the master suddenly being able to be above ground.

These are all minor points, things that I can live with in order to get a streamlined season one. I especially liked the new flashback structure of killing off a couple of the key vamps (Jesse, the Bounty Hunter from X-Files). Very efficient. Despite the niggles I've mentioned, it plays really well. The Buffy-Angel subplot is perfectly handled and, despite a couple of holes and leaps of logic, the master storyline works well, too.

The editing is very professional. There were a couple of ad break fade outs that could've been trimmed, I think (after Angel's found with Buffy's mum and after Buffy overhears the prophecy of her death in the library), but the structure of the film as a whole worked really well (I especially love that the Angel-is-a-vampire reveal comes bang on at the midpoint) and there were no jarring cuts or audio flaws.

I'm a little disappointed that season two has been cut into so many movies, if I'm honest. I like the idea of one two-and-some-hour movie per season. I understand this might not be possible, though, having not seen them myself for a while. Fantastic job on season one, anyway, and I look forward to getting into season two.

Phenomenal edit of a very good series. My family and myself have just finished these movies and I must say that the editor has done an incredible job of creating a story which is compelling to both parents (43 & 45) and children. My kids are 13, 11, and 9 and the fact that are enjoying a 20 year SD series is in itself a testimony on how good these are. We will be starting the Season 3 series very soon and I can't wait to see what happens. By the way, I never watched the original series so these movies are my first exposure to the series. Considering how good these movies are I will probably never watch the actual episodes for fear that they will pale in comparison to this retelling. Thanks for making these movies.

This is a review for Buffy: The Prophecy Final Cut
I found it to be an entertaining movie.
I like this edit because I can experience Buffy the Vampire Slayer in a short amount of time.
The movie as a whole works but the second act has some strange parts.

In the middle of the movie that nightmare scenes. One dream Buffy is speaking to her dad and he tells her to never contact him again. In the second dream Buffy is at school taking a test and it bothers her that she doesn't know the answers because she hasn't studied.

I thought the scenes come out of nowhere with no mention they are dreams.
However I felt that these scenes show us what Buffy is going through. Thinking her father doesn’t love her anymore and she has been spending so much time slaying vampires there is no time to study.
It is disappointing Buffy’s friends are introduced at the beginning of the movie, but have very little screen time.
The film mainly focuses mainly on Buffy and Angel.
Overall I Highly recommend this fanedit!
If you are a fan of Buffy or Vampire movies this movie is for you, check it out.

Keep up the great work NewSpock looking forward to more Buffy seasons as movies

Always been a huge Buffy fan, but it's really hard to recommend to people given the monster-of-the-week storytelling style that dominates the first two seasons. This edit beautifully cuts out all of the fluff while keeping the main story elements tight and keeping all of the poignant "life of a slayer" moments that really set Buffy apart.

Very impressed by your ability to compress Season 1 into what feels like a feature film. Easily feels as naturally like a movie as the 1992 film. Season 2's movies are also incredibly well done. Each starts and ends on what feel like very natural points, and the editing is tight within them.

I'd like to thank you for using the 4:3 video. Netflix shows the series in 16:9 which was never supposed to be broadcast and often contains amateur-seeming moves like booms in the shot. You made a wise choice by sticking to showing the video in it's originally intended viewing format.

I'm sticking by my 10s across the board. This was a labor of love and it shows. Looking forward to Season 3!!
