Straight to the point, and IMO a much better "hero" short story. I travel a lot, so the angle of simply focusing on the actual event made me emotional at the the quick pace - felt just like being late for a plane and then... WTF.

I understand why the original edit focused on the bureaucratic aftermath, but I think we all agree it was BS, the guy did a great thing and this edit really focus on the right things.

I wish this edit was in HD, that's the only fault I can give it, besides it scaring the "traveler" in me for its realism LOL
Great edit, highly recommended.

I liked this a lot. I liked the original, but found that I preferred the story of the actual event over the court room stuff. Then I saw this edit, it was a perfect, great idea to do. The only issue I had with it, is that it wasn't the greatest quality, 720 I think, would have loved a 1080 version. Other than that, great.

I had to give this one nearly perfect marks - one star docked only because it wasn't 1080p - because it was an absolutely fantastic edit that conveyed the experience of the very short flight - and subsequent rescue - in perfect linear fashion. I adore the original film and would never have thought of a fanedit for it, but when I saw the description of this one, it made perfect sense.

The original event was so quick that in turning it into a film, they couldn't just do a straight beginning-to-end linear tale the way other true story plane disaster films have gone (I'm thinking of Crash Landing: The Rescue of Flight 232, and Miracle Landing, both of which have little in the way of flashbacks or prefacing clips), because it would be too short. As a result, Sully jumps back and forth all over the place, with nightmare alternative possibilities, emotional aftermath, and the NTSB's attempt to blame Sully himself for not landing at a proper airport. This edit undoes all of that and goes back to "well, what if it WERE just like the other films?" It may not be a full film's length, but it really has the emotional impact, and underscores just how much of a miracle the entire thing was, just how amazing a story it continues to be to this day. Major kudos on this project! I'll be showing this to my family for sure.

I am not familar with BionicBob, this is the first edit of theirs I’ve seen.

I am blown away, I loved this! Im sure this must have been harder to put together than it seems but you made it seem effortless.

You have created an emotional rollercoaster that did not exist in the original “Sully”, I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through.

What can I complain about? Video quality was lower than I would like.

I need this in 4k! ;P

I guess if im going to say anything else, the credits were a bit verbose for such a tight edit but thats a whole lotta work for very little benefit.

Technically perfect.

Great job.

Thanks for making it.

Great edit - the cuts were seamless, and if you've seen the original material you'll realize that that's harder than it sounds, as so much of the original was done as broken up flashbacks. Didn't hear or see any disruptions.

The speed and simplicity of the final result also gives the viewer a much more realistic sense of 'time'. The entire event took only a few minutes, and when it's portrayed as multiple perspective flashbacks, you get a false impression of what a few minutes is. This cut really impressed upon me just how little time the pilots had to react, how little time the passengers had to prepare, and anyone on the ground start a rescue. It also is a wonderful recreation for any fans of Air Crash Investigation / Mayday, as it feels a bit like and end to end re-enactment when all put in sequence.

The one negative of all this is that in staying faithful to a single story line, all in sequence, you lose some of the individual drama, as well as some of the emotional impact on the protagonists; but that's why the long format exists!

Thanks for your work Bob!
