Perfect. krausfadr called this the "enhanced" edition, but as far as I'm concerned, "definitive" would also have been a great choice.
A/V quality is beyond reproach, and the new VFX are seamlessly integrated. One of the shots felt a touch to "modern" for my tastes on a first view, but became more natural on a revisit. The integration of these new shots is so good that they *almost* feel like a part of the original. If you thought this was Cameron doing a George Lucas, you'd be forgiven. And you'd probably thank Cameron for the effort.
My only challenge with the movie is some aggressive L/R panning for many of the sound effects, but that's just how it is in the source material, so I take nothing away from the scoring on that category.
The improved grading, selective darkening and cropping to better mask some of the dated practical effects, the improved SFX, and other fixes along the way genuinely give the impression of a studio-level overhaul.
Recommended.
