Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back: Revisited

Pretty much everything Adywan decided to do worked. the re-rotoscoped lightsabers and blaster shots are much better than they were in the original Revisited, and the colors are fantastic.

No complaints. It's the same TESB we all know and love, except there's nothing left to nitpick. Amazing.

Apart from some extremely minor nitpicks (mainly the purist in me), this is absolutely phenomenal. An incredible achievement. The battle of Hoth is gorgeous!

Thank you, Adywan, for putting so much time into this. Many fans are indebted to you. I definitely consider this to be the definitive ESB.

The perfect fanedit. I was absolutely blown away by Adywan's vision here, and i was expecting big things, given my long-term love for his take on ANH.

The enhancements here are seamless. As with ANH, Adywan has a respect for source material that is so totally precise he hones in on exactly what we, our collective consciousness, knows is wrong with the film but was never bothered by it, or, more precisely, "what can i do about it?" Adywan has.

Look at Luke's Hoth goggles, for god's sake. They are as green as green as green should be. The entire film looks like that - just utterly gorgeous. The light of Degobah has never looked so lovely. Cloud City is a miracle of realization. The desitution of Hoth seems so realistic it's frightening. Matte paintings are now smoothed into backgrounds, stop - motion is smoothed out (and i was looking!!!) The asteroid field, my god....its all so beautifully realized. The color in the carbon chamber is just so *pronounced*. Yoda's mouth, too! You'll likely be delighted. Its one of those examples of what Adywan does so well - giving us gifts we didnt realize we wanted until we see them. The snow bunching under the AT-AT feet. The sound of the space slug ground. Did I mention Cloud City??? Well, I could go on and on, but won't. Just see the thing.

I think ROTJ will be his biggest challenge in terms of dealing with source material and actually cutting big sections of the film right out. ANH amd ESB both are just so good in their original forms there was never a question of cutting really even one scene. All he's done is exactly what lucas should have - used his technical skills to improve flaws. But ROTJ will be a different beast altogether. ESB just doesnt have to contend with Jedi Rocks or Ewoks or lazy lead performances. So standing by, Adywan. You're truly a miracle worker.

Once a masterpiece, now even more so. Incredible work.

I'll make this quick--this edit was an enormous amount of work but is actually a fairly subtle edit. There are tons of little changes, all of which contribute towards a much larger whole. The biggest change I noticed are the AT-ST's added to the battle of Hoth. They were tastefully done and gave me some smiles. ESB is a film that didn't need much "fixing" but what Adywan has done is polish it to perfection. This is a professional quality edit and it's completely flawless. Through his years of work and dedication, Ady has proven that he's quite simply Star Wars' biggest fan.

In short, this edit is billed as "what the special editions should have been!" and it absolutely lives up to that standard. Looking forward to the final entry to the Revisited trilogy!
