I’ve always had issues with the original film. Its pacing is wrong, there are a lot of unnecessary subplots and the love triangle is utterly ridiculous. All of these are fixed here.

The pacing is much better, most of the subplots are removed (like the talk about free speech for the human slaves…) and the story just flows. It’s still not a perfect film, it’s no masterpiece; but this edit makes it a good film (coming from a kinda silly one).

The ending is the best change. Talk about subverting the viewer’s expectations in an absolutely meaningless way. Even if it was made with a sequel in mind, the original ending plot twist is surreal. The story becomes much better the way it’s edited here.
