Brief Synopsis:
A mentally unstable photo developer targets an upper middle-class family after his obsession with them becomes more sick and disturbing than any of them could imagine.

The ReWorkedPrint recuts the film as closely to an early version of the film, with an alternate opening/ending, new narration, removed the wraparound story, and some reinserted deleted moments.
Intention:
After watching the film and being absolutely entranced by Robin Williams in this unique performance, I was really curious about the workprint. It was very different in a lot of areas, and in pretty good quality, so I went about trying to recut the Blu-Ray to match, and only using the workprint material when it diverted and was interesting enough to use.
Additional Notes:
The added footage and audio does not match 100%, and is not a completely seemless experience, so this may only be for hardcore fans of the film. I've done a lot of work to clean up the material, but it's not perfect.

Cuts and Additions:
The biggest and most important changes to this edit are;

- cut wrap around narrative, with Sy recounting the film's events, now the film is strictly linear
- added new prologue with Sy talking about red eyes in photos, predators, and more
- new opening credits, recreated from scratch based on the WP
- cut scene of Nina and Tom having an argument about money, and him working too much
- extended scene with Sy watching The Simpsons (Season 5, Episode 2, Cape Feare) and more of the photos on his wall, showing his years long obsession and its extent
- new sequence of Sy's narration over different photos against a black backdrop, during the flea market scene
- moved Sy searching his photo wall for Nina, him looking through her photos, and having a breakdown in the darkroom to right after she drops off the film, so it's one long sequence instead of being stretched out after he gets fired
- alternate version of Sy on the ground just before Nina drops off Jake's film, he is now looking at Maya and Tom kissing rather than the blank paper, more literal than symbolic, he's reacting to the parasocial relationship he has falling apart rather than being firing and losing the only world he knows
- rearranged footage so now Sy is scratching out Tom from the photo wall before he has his red-eye nghtmare, instead of after
- extended and recut scene of Yoshi coming in and showing Bill, the prints of his daughter
- reattached the wrap-around scene from the original opening (Sy at the police station) to where it was originally at the end of the film
- added scene with Detective Coulson being shown the explicit photos that Sy took, where as in the theatrical cut, it's implied he never took them, and instead only shot photos of his empty hotel room

Just got the chance to watch this workprint reconstruction of One Hour Photo and it was great! Some of the footage is a little rough, but that was to be expected and did not distract from the story at all. The additional material, and the way it the story is presented in this version really shows just how unhinged Robin Williams character Sy actually was!

The editing was pretty flawless though, even with the rougher footage, and I like the way the story is structured in this version (though I do still like the non-liner presentation in the original). I'm glad I got the chance to watch this version! If you like the original version of One Hone Photo you should definitely check this out.

For me as an actor Robin Williams could do anything comedy (obviously) drama and everything else in between. This character is way beyond creepy. And with what Bobson has done, for me has added to the creepiness of the character. It has been awhile since I have seen this title. So for me there a few WTF ????? moments. The difference in quality of the added stuff really didn't bother me. This edit held my attention so I really didn't pay attention to the difference. And the red eye dream WOW. I was thoroughly entertained for 95 minutes. As usual no techie stuff here. Just a short and sweet review. And this edit gets 5 out of 5 on my popcorn scale. Side note when I worked retail years ago, The store I worked in I was in the electronics dept. Sold the obvious stuff, computers , stereos etc. Then after a remodel we got the photo development. All film was sent out to process but when the pictures came back.........yes we took them into the warehouse and looked at them
