Brief Synopsis:
I grew up with the US Cut and Paul Gilreath score, so a fleshed out version of that was my intention. I used my original cut as a base and reworked the whole thing from start to finish. I fixed the things I wasn't happy with in the original fan edit and then added and tweaked a lot more.
Intention:
It was 10 years ago since I posted my original Fan Cut. I had always planned to tweak it here and there as I wasn't entirely satisfied with the end result. I started it multiple times throughout the years but never really got anywhere. But since then there have been more releases with both superior audio and video, so thought it was a good time to go back.
Additional Notes:
The recent Kaleidoscope UK release is the best looking version of the extended cut I've seen. All the other Blu-ray releases have the cropped picture with the incorrect aspect ratio. Unfortunately the US Cut Blu-ray isn't up to this same standard, but is still head and shoulders above the VHS quality picture used in my previous edit.

Editing Details:
These are just the changes that differ from my original fan edit. All other changes have been listed previously. Very minor video and audio fixes throughout.
Cuts and Additions:
04:17 Used alternate shot from the extended cut
06:30 Added shot from extended cut
09:43 bizarrely this was missing 3 seconds of basketball bounces, which I added.
12:08 I deliberated over adding this one. Only for more continuity, and dialogue after makes more sense. I had to extend the music to fit with the scene.
14:10 A few minor video and audio improvements throughout the chase scene.
19:47 Had to reshuffle this scene as in the original they start watching it from when the fights over. This way they watch the fight then discuss it afterwards.
21:38 Short extension at the beginning of the scene with Dean, RJ and Jason
24:29 Fixed a small dialogue edit here.
25:18 Inserted a shot of Scott here which was missing before, but audio could still be heard.
30:55 Reshuffled the first 10 seconds of Kelly’s birthday party.
36:13 Put the shots of Jason in the car in the correct order.
38:15 Jason's Dad, extra line from the extended cut.
51:44 Another short scene added, which wasn't in my original. Again for continuity, and shows what a good friend RJ is. Had to loop the audio to get the scene to fit.
55:12 Removed the 'Thanks to you' line, which I felt was corny.
57:07 Zoomed and edited to fix a couple of continuity errors.
64:10 Extra scene added from the extended cut as I removed an incorrect shot.
74:14 Combined the two individual shots of Frank which plays out better.
79:39 Restored. Shot of the judges condemning Ivan's actions
79:42 Restored. more punches removed from the original cut.
80:03 Restored and reshuffled a reaction shot of Jason and RJ which fixes a continuity error with Kelly between scenes

I am a big fan of the No Retreat No Surrender films (the original is my favourite then part 3 then part 2).

This No Retreat No Surrender Version 2.0 Fanedit in my opinion is the very best version of No Retreat No Surrender.

I have watched the original VHS No Retreat No Surrender probably hundreds of time. Watched the DVD version a few times I did not like the changes the DVD made (terrible soundtrack and to many additional scenes that made the film way to cheesy).

This Fanedit is perfect imho because it takes the original completely remasters the picture quality, keeps the original soundtrack (thank you so much for that) with great sound quality and it just minor tweaks of the editing, I think one additional scene which is a great scene and the whole film this Fanedit it flows wonderfully.

Perfect in all departments this is the ultimate version of one of my favourite martial arts films I love it and a massive thankyou to the person or persons that did this I will keep it forever and watch it every year thanks.

I'm a huge fan of NRNS, it was my favorite childhood movie and I still absolutely adore it. I loved the first Fan cut that this fine gentleman made. He added scenes that were cut and restored the classic music from the US version that I fell in love with originally. Now this new version made everything so much better: The picture is remastered beautifully, sound quality is superb. Everything flows flawlessly. This is hands down the best way to watch NRNS now. Thank you and bravo good sir!

This is a great version. Very happy with how it was edited. It's the original u.s.. cut soundtrack but this time with the remastered visuals ... you also get some of the great scenes that were cut out of the U..S. cut. (makes more sense keeping them in). Some parts that were not necessary are edited keeping it flowing better and less corny. But you still get more than what was on original u.s. cut..... and hey this is now in great quality!!! Fans who loved this back in the day on VHS will be more than happy seeing this version.
