Out of all the iconic horror stars Freddy Kruger is my favourite, while the series became less scary and more focus shifted towards how Fred would kill his victims I’ve always enjoyed the sequels. This has been an edit that I’ve long to view and overall the edit didn't disappoint

The footage isn't fantastic but then I wasn't expecting this before viewing the edit, what pleased me the most was how the footage never disrupted the flow of the film, and in some cases added an extra element to the film that was missing from the theatrical cut. This is maybe an edit for die hard fans of the series as some my find the drop in quality distracts from the film

It's as visually good as it could be for the time, and some of it really holds up even today. It's fascinating to me to see the lines and shots that get left on the cutting room floor and the different texture that they give certain characters and moments.

In technical terms, this is an edit that definitely shows its age a bit, as the menus require a bit of squinting and the re-integrated deleted scenes are far from seamless; however as an overall package, this is one of the best. Plenty of extras (2-discs!), lots of alternate takes and generally just a lot of fun. Might not be my definitive way to watch the original Nightmare going forward, but as a treasure trove of rare behind-the-scenes material, this is an essential augmentation to any Freddy Fanatic's shelf.

This is a huge improvement over the 2004 edit. Extended and alternate scenes are flawlessly integrated into the movie. Some scenes are of lesser quality but considering the sources this is the best anyone could have hoped for (nice restoration). Marge revealing to Nancy they all had siblings and other extended scenes make this cut the most complete original ANOES out there at the moment. Thanks so much for including Nancy floating asleep (thought I would never see that in any cut) and especially Craven’s original ending as it fits the story so much better than theatrical version ending.

Second disc is a nice bonus for fans. I especially liked Freddy’s Nightmares pilot episode. With music cues from movies and movie aspect ratio it’s certainly better than original tv presentation. Collection of trailers, photo gallery and other bonuses are also great.

Truly an excellent set, nice complement to official dvd releases and a must have for all fans of the original ANOES.
