Living Daylights: Recut, The

This is a wonderful edit that fixes virtually all my issues with the movie, refining what was already there to make it the best depiction of Fleming’s Bond outside of Casino Royale. This is absolutely Dalton’s best 007 movie. If you only watch one, this is it.

One of My top 5 bond movies and this is a great cut.
Really tightens up the story and things move along quicker - will be my go to version moving forward.

Another amazing work from ProblemEliminator. The movie quality itself is great since the original is the Blu-Ray copy.

The edits were clean and seamless and wouldn't be noticeable narrative-wise unless you've literally memorized the original scene by scene.

Narrative-wise, this edit successfully tightens the narrative and several of the edits even turn sequences to a more frantic pace, which I think fits the overall theme and story of the movie. The tone of the movie also shifts into a more serious one, similar to its successor (and of course the corresponding edit). Overall this turns what is already a solid movie into a great one. Personally, this is the definitive way to watch and enjoy this movie, especially if watched back-to-back with Licence to Kill (or PE's edit).

I very much liked this edit. A lot of my "issues" with the movie were pretty well solved here. The cuts are all great and the movie flows at a pretty "snappy" pace. I liked this a lot and honestly I enjoy it better than the original. Honestly, I like that the framing of the movie is the same, it's just been trimmed. That, and the villains were pretty flat, but they seem a bit more menacing here. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with this cut. Job well done!

This convinced me that Dalton is one of the top 3 Bonds. An excellent film and I would highly recommend this edit. It really cut out some of the fluff and cheesy humor that can really make a bond film drag. Honestly, I couldn't really tell much was cut until I looked at the change log. Everything was seamless. Audio remained fantastic throughout. It jumps the characters around a bit when they get to the middle east, which is the only complaint I would have. Bravo Problem Eliminator. Thanks for your hard work and allowing this great recut to exist.
