Brief Synopsis:
John Wick 4: The Final Chapter follows the the same story as the original. A man by the name of John Wick uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.
Intention:
While I enjoyed the original quite a lot, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a tedious watch at points with its nearly 20-30 minute action scenes.
John Wick 4: The Final Chapter aims to trim these long action scenes and remove unneeded plot points that aren't needed towards the main story for a far more easy-going watch.

Editing Details:
I had no problem with the main plot to the original as it was pretty much a very standard story that followed the same ideas as it's predecessors. The only big part I planned to remove was Scott Atkins' charecter due to it feeling very unneeded in the long run. I also decided to trim the overlong action scenes where I personally thought they were going on for too long and became tiring.
Cuts and Additions:
It would be near enough impossible to list everything I cut in my edit due to such a large amount being done throughout. However like mentioned before the main focus was to trim a lot of it's large-scaled action scenes to have a faster paced story and remove everything to do with Scott Atkins' charecter and the subplot in Moscow.

A well streamlined edit. I will say when I saw the original during some of the fight parts. I was thinking geeze how long is this going to last? This edit for me is a good action movie. Just the right pace and length. The end left a much better opening for a 5th movie than the original did, especially with the next movies script being written (supposedly). I would of much rather spent my $10 bucks for this version than I did at the theatre. Even though there are a couple of plot holes that unless you've seen the other movies you kinda get lost. But this is still a very enjoyable edit and I would recommend it. On my popcorn scale I will give this a 4 out of 5.

This was a very well made cut, from the really cool handmade opening title to the altered ending. It's a really streamlined, fast moving version of a pretty long movie, and I enjoyed it very much!

Nothing to note on visuals or audio, the movie was really well edited.

The narrative suffered slightly as it becomes more action-oriented and occasionally left me connecting dots. For a small example, Winston delivering the challenge to the Marquis brings some story back in, especially because they talk so much about "rules," which the Marquis brings up at the end.

As much as I liked the ending, it's very open but I understand why you wanted to change it. I might have left the original minus the cemetery scene? I also really liked the way you ended on the knife in Akira's hand, really well done!

Cutting out most of The Underground and Russia was a great move, and crazily enough almost all of Japan could be cut too without changing almost anything, which shows how disjointed the original is.

All that said, this was a really fun way to watch what was a pretty bloated action flick, so hats off to you! I'll be coming back to this edit if I want to watch the movie again.

I've been looking forward to seeing a trimmed down version since seeing the theatrical cut earlier this year. I really found the TC a chore to get through. Ridiculously overlong and repetetive action scenes and Keanu practically sleepwalking in the dialogue scenes. This 86 minute cut does a good job of making those action scenes more palatable but I still found it very top heavy on the action which makes up about 2/3rds of the edit. The editor I believe has done the best that can be done in terms of making this a more streamlined and engaging experince at least for my tastes. I'll be honest I just really don't like the original cut and consider it the worst JW film by some margin. This at least gives me the beats of the film without having to edure 3 hours of it. A good edit of a very mediocre film with albeit excellent stunt work.
