Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Edits, The

Masterfully edited together. Achieves the goal it sets out to accomplish.

I've seen a lot of the Hobbit edits. For this edit, I saw some familiar changes, but also a lot of interesting choices.
I really liked the idea of keeping that story between Thorin and Legolas, but I did wonder where Legolas went - a tough compromise I suppose.

After reading The Hobbit to my kids I wanted to show them the film, but having watched the series previously in cinemas I knew that there was heaps of bloat and silly scenes that do not enhance (rather, they distract and diminish) the proper story. Battle of the 5 edits is an excellent and commendable body of work by Stromboli Bones. Well done.,

Like everyone else, I really wanted to love the Hobbit trilogy as much as LOTR and what we got theatrically was just too overloaded. This edit combines the best of all of the Hobbit trilogy edits that have come before and have made this bloated trilogy more in line with the original LOTR trilogy and like that trilogy, this is infinitely rewatchable.

I do not recommend viewing the Hobbit trilogy in any other form. Buy the Blurays and put them on your shelf, sealed!

Thoroughly enjoyed this edit! I was entertained through all 5 episodes. I can finally add The Hobbit to my yearly rotation similarly to LOTR.
