I’ve never really liked Bride that much, largely for being such a stark tonal shift from the first film. Minnie’s constant interjections are beyond annoying and I’m not a fan of the form Pretorious’ creations take. It robs the original film of some of its grit and injects a bit too much whimsy for my liking.

Ray doesn’t remove all these offences, but he does tone them down considerably. That combined with trims for pacing and some very well-handled audio tweaks made for a great experience - I’m genuinely surprised how much of a difference it makes. This is superior to the original for sure.

A minor visual editing qualm is I could tell that some shots had been slowed down with AI. It's tricky with older films, because you can see the grain movement soften and move at a slower rate. There's also dialogue out of sync at 10:29 and no lips moving when dialogue is spoked at 46:19. Otherwise, everything comes across very well.
