Unbelieveable. At times quite panto. It gains a sense of old school theatrical cinema in the vein of the classic epics. Instead of shots being too expensive, they being too excessive here but still the distillation of effort turns out the same effect. Certainly any shorter and it will be unfaithful to the stature of The Hobbit, even. One believes this extremely cleverly done edit has faith in the fullness of the fans' aptitude for suspension of disbelief. Nay; the imagination of those who love a good adventure.

Will be cool to see some production end refinments and maybe even a Blu-ray!!
