This review is based on my opinions and my viewing experience. Nothing is meant as an attack. Warning! if you have not watched the edit, do not read this, it contains spoilers.

Wow!!! that’s one kicks ass edit, i give it a ten easily.
Where to begin… well the black and white is perfect and looks totally authentic, i know it’s easy to make color black & white, but to make it look good and authentic is when it can get tough, but you pulled it off.
The commercials were awesome, i never had one of them cool trike bike things or whatever they are sadly, ah well it probably wouldn’t have lasted more than a day anyways. That was hilarious when the doll’s like “i’m gonna take your soul” hahahaha, that had me howling!
The commentary was the icing on the cake, seriously do that again, I found it to be very entertaining, you got me laughing more than a few times.

All in all, a brilliantly put together edit, in a generous package filled with extras.

Side notes: I love it!!!

A very entertaining take of this movie.
Good pace, good fear, good laughs :)

The aging process is effective; I liked the “auto levels” that makes things sundenly dark or bright, it really gives not only a sens of an old print of the movie, but it aslo adds a felling of tension and insecurity (if that make sens).

I’m french so I did not know any of the commercials, but they were good fun… and sometime as scary than the movie itself, haha (damn, that child-size doll was creepy!).

I did not listen to the commentary yet but I love when faneditors do those kind of extra work.

Easily a 9/10 from me.

Impressive disc, sir! I think I would give the actual movie a 5 or 6, as it just didn’t hold my interest as well as I’d hoped, but I’ll give the edit a 9. Everything is technically very well done (the unintentional brightening and darkening of the picture looks great!), the audio is good, the cuts are well done in an intentionally badly done way, the old commercials are lots of fun, etc… The thing that really gets me about this one is how in the audio commentary, he mentions that the extras are often overlooked in fanedits. That’s true, and I admit that often times they don’t thrill me either, as they’re just uninspired, which is part of the problem. On this disc, yowza! It’s Extraspalooza! Lots of fun stuff, including some genuinely interesting stuff that ties in directly to the movie. Oh, and having an entire Abbott & Costello movie as an extra is insane! :)

There are certain other things I’d like to mention but won’t (not here, anyway), cuz they mostly have to do with the easter eggs, which are GREAT! :D

I am going to give this edit a 9 overall, as it is one of the most jam-packed, fun discs I’ve ever seen come out of this site! I would recommend Tranzor’s “The Thing: Late Night TV Edit” over this one as the pinnacle of local TV station film butchery, but this is a worthy companion piece, especially if you already like the movie.

P.S. I’m going to post extra, spoiler-loaded comments in the thread for the edit, rightchere: http://www.fanedit.org/forums/showthread.php?3981-WTTV-Channel-1-New-York-Presents-the-Prowler
