short quick review....
If you haven't watched WW84 yet, DON'T... watch this edit instead!
If you loved the first WW and hated WW84, watch this edit!

While still not an "awesome" movie, this edit did the best it could to make this movie somewhat actually enjoyable... some great music additions. Loved the Weird Science addition!!! The VH song came out in '86, but since the "84" was dropped from the title.... it works!!!
Some smart cuts to the movie as well... goodbye, creepy body-stealer Steve!

Overall, this is definitely "an-almost awesome" adventure that's worth checking out...

Accomplishing the impossible here, WakeupKeo has streamlined one of the most mixed up of DC's troubled filmography, injecting it with new energy and paring away a lot of what was holding it back. I have yet to encounter an editor as capable of integrating new pop music into a film, blended with the sound FX and dialogue and timing of the editing to the point like it seemed as though it was always there, but this is one of WakeupKeo's many skills. Deliberately immersing this in a twisting waterslide of Bill & Ted music to give new flavour to a period piece strangely coy about using 80s music to its fullest. The 'In Time' moment in Diana's apartment brought genuine tears to my eyes, looking back on the actions of a hidden superhero still trying her best to help humanity rather than only mourning the loss of Steve (It's what Captain Carter would have done!). Dutiful pruning of nonsense, convolution and the weird implications of this newly summoned Steve occupying the body of Some 80s Guy all contribute to a story about preoccupation with what Diana, Minerva and Maxwell WANT. The single, solitary star I've deducted is not down to the editor but the fact that the third act of this movie, with its catfight and wish-renouncement sequences really is impossible to salvage into a denouement worthy of Wonder Woman, but what was achieved is manifestly getting the best out of what footage is there. Thank you for rescuing this one from the delirium of its theatrical cut. Very much looking forward to watching more of these.

A fun alternative to the deeply flawed original. Fixes everything that can be fixed and the 80s soundtrack is a nice addition

I don't pretend to know anything about the DC Comics franchise and i suppose i watch the movies with a certain naivety , however, i do seem to prefer DC over the MCU..The recent Suicide Squad was a barrel of fun and i even found the Harley Quinn standalone entertaining and i was able to switch off my brain for a couple of hours.....Yes WW84 was very generic but i personally think Patty Jenkins was probably going for that all encompassing 80's feel that she kind of got visually but ended up sonically anaemic.

Watching WW84 on bluray a few months back i felt the film missed a trick by not incorporating some all out cheese fest of 80's music. Luckily we have Wakeupkeo to put that right I loved this edit and personally i don't think the editor has given himself enough credit.. The cuts are in all the right places and your music choices are spot on. I would personally only change about three of the songs and at first i was a bit baffled that you have chosen post 1984 songs - "Top Gun" Theme ...but i'm even warming to that now, as ultimately this edit is "An Excellent Adventure" & not WW84.

If we have any VFX wizzes on this site that can help by incorporating a jet into the travelling to Cairo sequence then this edit would go up a level.

A fantastic job and definitely my go to version of WW84 with a few music tweaks that i intend to replace thanks to your kind offer of providing us with a clean version of your edit.

I did not enjoy the original of this movie. Having a 80's movie without 80's music is just wrong. I love so much about this fan edit, from Chris Pine not possessing someones body to only the wisher granter needed to renoun his wish. It fixed so much wrong with the original movie but then having the 80's music made it fun and exciting!! Only gripe is it would have been nice to remove the end fight scene with Kirsten Wigg as I dont feel it adds anything to the story, she can fly in, fight the humans and then cut right to her entering the door. Just a thought. 5/5 would strongly recommend!!
