Superlative short here, mixing two (in my mind) incongruous films, WALL-E and Final Fantasy.
Does it work? Absolutely.
The intro is helpful, explaining WALL-E’s desire to depart Earth.
While other reviewers have expressed dismay with the open ending, that struck me as OK.
Adventures, especially spontaneous trips, are often unpredictable.
I like to think things will work out well for the small robot.
Someone could always craft a followup short.

Another great mash-up idea. The editing was perfect, if I hadn't seen the original films before I would almost think this might be a legitimate short film. As others have stated it would have been a little better with a more well defined ending but I don't think it detracts from the overall enjoyment too much. My only nitpick, and it is a nitpick, is the that ship noticeably changes because the ship from Wall-E and Final Fantasy don't have the same shape. Highly recommend!

This short started amazingly, and the blend between Wall-E and Final fantasy was superb. The editing was flawless and I was immediately taken into the world of the editor. However, being a fan of both films, it was difficult to get past the lack of an ending. You want it to go somewhere but just doesn't. I know the editor only had so much footage to work with, but maybe he could have stuck the Titan AE opening on the end and blew up the planet just to finish things off?
But in the end, this is what I believe fan-editing is about. Taking two completely different stories and integrating them together to create a whole new story. That is its strength and for that reason, this is the short that takes top marks at successfully completing the main goal.
