It's still images, so perhaps that explains why the detail here is absolutely beautiful. Black and White still photographs on filmstock somehow capture human life in so much more colour than reality.

Visual Editing: 10
I didn't notice a single trim.

Audio Editing: 10
Again it's perfect. I imagine editing the voiceover must have been quite tricky.

Narrative: 10
It felt like it was all here despite half of the original source being gone. Nice reduction.

Enjoyment: 9
This was haunting and sad. You know where it is going all along and that only adds to the sadness. But it's also quite uplifting at the core.

This was unique, different than any edit I've seen.

All of the imagery was spot on for the accompanying dialog. It started really slow for me, but towards the end it grabbed my attention and held it.

This is a sad story, really. The 'scientist' that was conducting the experiment looked creepy as all get out. I don't understand why he had to be killed. Like anyone would believe anything he said... He just wanted love!! :-(

An arthouse offering, outstanding!
The original, “Le Jette” seems from another planet, it is so far ahead of its time.
I was stunned by how well the condensed narrative held together, and the emotion punch it still delivers.
Part Noir, part SciFi, of the guinea pig snared in time’s pendulum.
And “Love” as self deception, self betrayal.
Biggest complaint? Too many fade to blacks throughout, and they go on too long. And easy enough to remedy by adding more vintage stills during the voiceover.
I never saw the original, but I can envision Terry Gilliam screening it, jaw dropped.
Extraordinary closer to Disc 01 of the Time Consecution.

This is a very well done sharpening of the already short La Jetee. There are only a couple noticeable edits, other than that it’s all good. I’m slightly disappointed that the one shot with motion was cut, but it’s not a big deal. Good edit.

Simple but effective short version of La Jetée, that did see very long ago.
12 Monkeys basicaly was a kind of a remake of this movie and this edit keeps the main plot intact.
Enjoyable and different.
