An arthouse offering, outstanding!
The original, “Le Jette” seems from another planet, it is so far ahead of its time.
I was stunned by how well the condensed narrative held together, and the emotion punch it still delivers.
Part Noir, part SciFi, of the guinea pig snared in time’s pendulum.
And “Love” as self deception, self betrayal.
Biggest complaint? Too many fade to blacks throughout, and they go on too long. And easy enough to remedy by adding more vintage stills during the voiceover.
I never saw the original, but I can envision Terry Gilliam screening it, jaw dropped.
Extraordinary closer to Disc 01 of the Time Consecution.

This is an amazing short. Ive never seen the original, and after watching this looked it up to find that its in the top 100 of TSPDT's greatest films of all time. I feel discussing the content would ruin it -- suffice to say the use of stills to tell the story completely works and thoroughly impressive. This is a cinema experience one shouldn't miss, and its only 15 mins! Countless future films (some pretty obvious) have been 'inspired' by or lifted from this, but the combination of story, narration and technique blends together perfectly here.
Perfect work jswert. Really great. Cheers, and thank you very much for making this...

It's still images, so perhaps that explains why the detail here is absolutely beautiful. Black and White still photographs on filmstock somehow capture human life in so much more colour than reality.
Visual Editing: 10
I didn't notice a single trim.
Audio Editing: 10
Again it's perfect. I imagine editing the voiceover must have been quite tricky.
Narrative: 10
It felt like it was all here despite half of the original source being gone. Nice reduction.
Enjoyment: 9
This was haunting and sad. You know where it is going all along and that only adds to the sadness. But it's also quite uplifting at the core.

Creepy. The source material's still images and inappropriately calm narration really add to the atmosphere of this. Far removed from the whimsey of the DeLorean and the TARDIS, this method of time travel is unnerving. The plot is condensed very well - it didn't feel like much was missing here. Concise and tragic.

Audio edits were a little rough, but a nice change of pace and a great story.
