By all rights, this should be a lot gimmickier than it was, but in the end, the "Twin Peaks" connection is kind of easily sloughed off while watching this edit, and Angelo Badalamenti's atmospheric and spooky score compliments this excellent, little-seen Western noir to a T. The re-editing takes care of some of the slower parts of the original and what's left is an improved version of an already excellent film. A really pleasurable experience, and something that every fan of Lynch and crime movies in general should stop what they're doing and watch right now.
