While my appreciation for David's theatrically-released version has grown over time, and while I understand how its leaner focus on the Palmer family makes for so harrowing a narrative, I find that this edit's restoration of the so-called Missing Pieces creates the juxtaposition between the quaint Americana and the seedy underbelly that had so many fans fall in love with the original series. Further, by lengthening the amount of time the viewer spends with Agent Desmond in Deer Meadow, the underlying ideas of it as an inversion or shadow of the original story are allowed to percolate, whereas the theatrical version plays much more "yeah, we couldn't get Kyle back for this" and "why are we not even in Twin Peaks in the Twin Peaks movie?" for general audiences.

When screening the series for people who haven't seen it, I will show them the theatrical version first such that they can understand the cultural context of its reception, but for my own use, for my own money... this is the version I go to and think of when I reflect on Fire Walk With Me.

The Whole Shabbang in one great go - thats Fire walk with me from Q2.
Any fan of Twin Peaks needs to see this.

When i was younger and Twin Peaks FWWM came out, no one i know liked it.
I was already fairly alone with my love for Twin Peaks, and still am in my Bubble, but seeing Fire i just knew something is speaking to me on a weird, underlined Level.
Years later the Missing Pieces came out in that glorious Box and i never knew how to watch them properly.

What Q2 has done with this edit is what every fan has wanted to see for over 20 years. And yes, you can strill weatch the Missing Pieces on its own, but the extended scense just add so much to the story and tie in with the TV series so good that i loved seeing it in one go.

This is one of the best Extended Edition i have seen so far !

Thx for the work !

Like others have said, this is the definitive version of FWWM, no question. I don't even know how to gush about this edit properly, it's just the best.

Been meaning to leave a review for awhile, this feels like the film David wanted to release before the studio wasn't kosher with such a long runtime for daily box office sales/screenings, I don't even watch the theatrical cut any longer after Q2 made this, there's so many little nuggets in the deleted scenes that should be seen before watching the final season of the series.

Thankfully after many many many years Mk2 restored these deleted scenes, I'm very glad Q2 was able to re-insert these scenes back into the film and create this.

While I do love Lynch’s final cut, there has always been something “incomplete” about it. Q2 remedies this by giving us what is, in my opinion, the definitive version of this film.
