Q2's streamlined take on Twin Peaks: The Return is fun. Cooper's journey back into the town that needs him the most is now 4 hours faster (252 minutes to be exact), sideplots erased with climax scenes cleverly merged into the cryptic opening to make it more decipherable. The reformed narrative is hole-free since the removals had no importance to the core story. However, that laser focus feels way too fast for my tastes - season 3's languid pace IMO added to the surreal atmosphere, and this edit loses that since there's barely any non-plot scenes. I sorely miss weirder moments like Episode 8 (pretty much entirely cut), Audrey's appearances and Michael Cera's visit. That being said, this is a very speedy, engaging way to revisit season 3 without the indulgence. Hats off to Q2 for the impeccable editing and video quality as usual.
