The Marvel Cinematic universe has a formula that works for a lot of people, among those me, for the Original Thor Dark World movie they hired a visionary director who had a vision of the character and world but didn't agree with the formula and that clash was reflected on the movie. In this edit we get a different view of things almost a "what if" the director had more creative freedom. I really enjoyed this edit, I liked the jokes on the original one and was glad that they remained here, the narrative of the movie flows better and we don't get repetitions of some plots and jokes, unfortunately it can do miracles with the antagonist of the movie but overall this edit is fantastic as are all of TM2YC's edits. The video and audio as always are flawless, the transitions make it seem as if this was the original film, congratulations, great work.

I really appreciate you sending this to me, because now I won't hesitate on whether to watch a mediocre Thor sequel any more. For a light fan edit as you put it, you've managed to fix a lot of my personal gripes with the flick. First, the color correction looks very natural and professional. I know from personal experience that it's one of the more difficult aspects of fan editing. Second, the cuts you made were again natural and were actually creative as well as seem less. I'm also glad you left in the quips and humor untouched (from what I could tell) since that was what saved the original cut for me. And finally, the overall improvement in the narrative, in the fact that the flick is pretty much a waste of time in terms of impact on the cinematic universe. Well, again with the use of deleted scenes, re writing the subtitles and some clever re ordering (btw I love the way you ended on Loki) that is no longer a problem. Now I wanna see you possibly tackle another MCU entry in the future.

TM2YC fanedit of Thor: The Dark World is great example showing how effective a fanedit can be by simply moving a few scenes around and trimming a little fat can greatly improve the original cut. Both the opening and end are effectively done and are the stand out moments. However looking at the cut list you see that there is a lot more to this edit all of which go unnoticed.

My only criticism would be the humor still remains especially in the third act were it feels a little out of place. But this didn't change my overall enjoyment as the fanedit greatly improves over the original and if it's not a concern for TM2YC then that's fine with me.

I've enjoyed the Thor films so far but in regards to the Marvel Film Universe he has been the weak link for me. while I'd give the theatrical cut a 7/10 TM2YC improves the score to a 8/10, but the problems with Thor: The Dark World are still there. Given the short run time and lack of decent deleted scenes TM2YC has done a great job with this edit and is a must see for any Marvel fan

I really like Thor 1, imho it was entertaining and had a good story-arc with the protagonist going through a period of character-building. I really don't like Thor 2 cause it lacked any interesting story arc and all the portal-stuff was imho lame, the villain even lamer. So I'm not really the natural audience for this edit, because a fanedit, no matter how good can't completely transform a bad story into an awesome story. Still I couldn't resist to try TM2YC's fanedit of it, just to see how much it could be improved by a talented faneditor. So how did I like it? *SPOILER-WARNING*:

I spotted three big changes:
1. The opening exposition was moved to the middle: Good idea, cause that way we get to know about the villains at the same time as Thor.
But I would have even gone further and let the movie start with Jane and her date.

2. The movie's pace is quicker than in the original, shortening transitions, using less expositions: I like that.

3. The end is completely different: This is my favourite change. By not showing Loki, Loki's "death" has more meaning as well as Thor's talk with his father. That is imho the best change of this edit and improves the movie's impact for me. I also liked the end with Thor meeting again Jane, has that nice romantic touch. So two thumbs up for that new ending TM2YC!

(4. I'm unsure if it wasn't already this way in the original or not, can't remember: When Thor and his friends discuss how to bring Jane out of Asgard, the plan's details are talked about and then shown happening with little flashbacks/flashforwards. Loved it, but I'm unsure if it is TMYC's invention or already that way in the original. If the first, then kudos to TMYC!)

Verdict: I love the new ending, but still the edit doesn't completely change the story for the better. The villain is still hugely generic and lame, the portal-thing unnerving, that stuff that is the medium for that dark energy is lame.. But that is pretty much unchangeable through editing, so no fault of this edit.
But through the new ending and the quicker pace it has improved it for me.
Editing is nearly flawless, good work! My narrative and enjoyment-score is only so low because of the source's story.
For fans of "Thor 2" I can recommend this edit, especially because of the new and imho better ending!

I enjoyed the original THOR THE DARK WORLD immensely. It was solid, if predictable, comic book formula fun.

But I must admit, I enjoyed TM2YC's version equally. I think the reordered scenes play stronger, but at the same time I felt the first act was a bit too plot driven, I think I would have preferred one or two breather scenes (the hall or Thor with Frigga).

This is definitely a faster paced, roller coaster ride edit, and it is very fun.
Video quality is excellent and technically I could find no fault with any of the new scenes, cuts or new fx. The new subtitles are excellent and a vast improvement over the original.

Great entertainment and well worth watching!
Thumbs Up! :)
