After watching this, I don't understand how the original movie wasn't structured like this. It makes for a far more enjoyable plot and the mystery helps to add to Thor's overall character arc. Loki also becomes more enjoyable due to the prolonged attention to his POV. From a quality standpoint, everything is excellent and no different from the original release. The only editing qualm I have is that the transition to the third act; and the destroyer, after the Warriors Three find Thor feels sudden but its a minor nitpick.

This was just a really fun experience! I loved how the separation of the two halves played out and going from the jokey tone of Earth to the more serious nature of Asgard felt like a much more natural change than in the original film (although I love that film too)! This kind of solved some of the tonal problems of the original. The experience of Loki is obviously impacted by the change of the structure and the experience of character growth for Thor changes too and I think it kind of works for Thor although since we see Loki already before his introduction in Asgard and we shift to the Asgard portion after finding out Loki lied about Odin, his introduction with his first image being him literally a shadow wearing horns has a different energy, I don't think it's worse necessarily but it's definitely a different feel. Honestly, the restructuring helps the movie feel quite different and the editor definitely achieved their intention of making it more ambiguous whether Thor is crazy. This was just a super fun watch! If you liked the original movie, you'll really like this too!

I have had this edit for a while and IRL meant that I haven't been able to watch it until now.. and... WELL!! That was a BLAST! I am not a loyal MCU fan, but I do enjoy the movies for a bit of mindless, turn my brain off bit of fun! And this was super fun! It's great how shuffling some scene about really does change a viewing experience! There are a couple little sound issues here and there, but overall the enjoyment I had with this was far superior than the original edit.

It never ceases to amaze me how people come up with this type of stuff, but I am thankful that they do, because I have seen so many films now with additions such as replaced soundtrack or deleted scenes added back in, and its been an incredible experience!

If you love the MCU films (and even if you don't) I recommend this edit! Its definitely going to be my preferred version of this MCU film from now on!

A well put together edit and looking forward to watching more edits by Malthus! 10/10

WOW! First off, I must start by saying that I am a fan of the Thor movie that we got. That said, Malthus' edit restructures the Thor origin story to make for a totally different viewing experience! I quite enjoyed the first act, keeping the mystery of Thor's Asgardian heritage alive and focusing on Jane Foster's perspective. In many ways, this version feels more like the kind of Thor movie we would eventually get with Ragnarok.

By keeping the story more Earth centric for the first act, the movie fits more seamlessly into the greater MCU, as the familiar element of SHIELD is introduced pretty quickly and serves as an obstacle for our main characters before we are introduced to Loki and the Frost Giants. Then having the second act jump to Asgard helps with making the finale feel even more epic as the story comes full circle.

A few minor gripes: some of the deleted scenes could use some improved sound mixing (there are moments where the score overpowers dialog, and weapons being drawn have no sound effects before the coronation). Also, due to the restructured narrative, the film does start to slow down in the second act. There are a few moments throughout where scenes cut somewhat abruptly, where in the original it would cut from Earth to Asgard, here we cut to another Earth based scene and the pacing doesn't always work as some transitions are a bit jarring.

I still love this as an alternate take on Thor, and know I will be watching it countless more times as I binge the MCU in the future!
