Great work of Maniac51 !
First of all a perfect short version of AOP13, called "Siege".
If there are people who didn't see this original film, all the main ingredients are in it.
The same goes for "Snake".
Noticed moments: for "Siege" a new overdubbed title track. At 14:06 remains the music of the Ice Cream Man present, during the massacre of the little girl. It gaves me more a dark feeling. The use of hard cut editing.
Noticed moments: for "Snake", is the use of only one, fade-in/fade-out. Alternate music tracks throughout the film. A brand new music track on the end. That face of Donald Pleasence remains great ! A superb sound edit !
Unfortunately some "Happy accidents" by John Carpenter. Maniac51 has to do with the offered material.
My rating: editing/10, audio/10 as for the video/10.

@Maniac51...Ever thought of making a broadcast serie about shortened film versions ?
You're double features are absolutely fabulous.
Now our young film lovers amongst us can enjoy shortened masterpieces in movie history.
Thanks alot for sharing the masterpieces.

Maniac did a great job with this edit, no big faults that i saw. The only thing i would have like to have seen being that its presented as a double feature, would be an intermission similar to the one used in the grind-house double feature, maybe some previews of other Carpenter movies, big trouble in little china, vampires, or the thing. With that said everyone please give Siege and Snake a try.

Maniac at it again with another really enjoyable double feature.

A/V Quality - 10 - Looked great.
Visual Editing - 10 - No wonky cuts, edits were seamless, great job.
Audio Editing - 9 - Obviously the music in these films is fantastic, and the edits as well. The overdubs were done very well. Only dropping one point because I thought the music should have continued as Snake ran with the president after he first gets him and one hard audio cut after Snake is knocked out and wakes up with the snake on him. Minor gripes when everything else is pretty much perfect.
Narrative - 9 - The narratives make pretty much as much sense as the originals (looking at you, Assault on Precinct 13). Keeping them coherent and basically just using all the good shit works really well, especially with these two.
Enjoyment - 9 - Obviously, nothing will replace the theatrical cuts BUT I will continue to revisit this double feature. It's a great way to get the best stuff from these films in a condensed. Pure fun and I really enjoyed it.

"Assault on Precinct 13" and "Escape From New York" are in my Top 5 John Carpenter films, so I quite enjoyed this double feature. If you've never seen either of these films, I would recommend watching the originals in a double-feature before watching this double-feature. But if you're a Carpenter junkie, this is a great way to rewatch some classics.

These are two of my favorite Carpenter movies. I still remember being a kid and being absolutely shocked when the little girl gets shot in Assault. Being familiar with maniac51's previous work on Judgment Day and Robocop I was really looking forward to this double feature. Once again I was not disappointed.

While Assault (now Siege) is a great movie it does get bogged down at times so the trimming serves the story well. As for Escape (Snake) I can't say this will replace my DVD and Bluray copies of the original but it was well edited and nicely paced. maniac51 wants these movies to be fun, fast and like a roller-coaster and he has succeeded once again!

Behind Judgment Day I believe this is his finest work and it was a pleasure to view.
