I remember watching American Horror Story season 1 a while back and, despite my enjoyment with it, I did feel some of the story elements were a bit dragged out in order to fill the entire season. With this edit “The Murder House”, thecuddlyninja shows how the story works perfectly fine, with much of the fat trimmed down.

I’m particularly fond of the editing style, it is erratic and jumpy and it mimics the series’ feel and theme very well. The editing work is an absolute tour-de-force here, for sure.

Regarding the narrative arc, there were changes I quite liked and a few I found a bit odd, but the overall story works like it is now, and it’s a great standalone experience.

I've never seen American Horror Story, so the fact that this edit felt like a standalone horror film is a testament to thecuddlyninja's work here. How ninja was able to so seamlessly stitch together a fully realized narrative from several hours of an entire season of the show is amazing.

As a fan of horror in general, I found the story to be an interesting blend; while filled with tropes, it nevertheless seemed like a fresh take on the usual haunted house ghost story. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the story overall, but there are a few scenes that make a good enough impression that I believe it's worthwhile. And that's to say nothing of ninja's absolutely flawless edit.

I can say this much: However you end up feeling about the source material, I truly believe that this edit is the best way to experience it. Highly recommended.

Simply put, this edit was brilliant! I couldn't believe how strong the narrative was with how much time had to be cut. From start to finish there really isn't a dull moment but it never felt jumbled. I loved the way the editor chose to start this film and it easily kept my attention from then on. I watched it with another HUGE AHS fan and she was equally pleased with it.

A/V quality was solid throughout. There may have been one or two fades throughout that seemed a little out of place but it was so minor and not worth dinging this edit in visual editing. Other than that very minor issue, the audio/visual editing was completely seamless. Any music replacements fit the scenes and were welcome additions.

Because of all these strengths, this edit was easily a 10/10 for me. Any fan of AHS should watch this. Hell, any fan of horror should watch this as seeing the first season of AHS is not necessary to enjoy this edit! Very well done!

Well I've not watched any of the AHS, so I was ready to pass up on this edit, but my wife is a huge AHS fan and so we both checked this one out.

Looking from it from my POV, it was really well put together and the narrative so great to follow, my wife so also happy with the overall result of this edit, plus she also commented on the bits that were cut away wasn't missed.

Video Quality was a flawless HD, the Audio Quality was great, but got louder along the way and needed to turn the TV down towards the end.
Visual Editing was a funny one for me, I almost gave it a 6 because there was many fast cuts which I thought was the editor, but then my wife said that the editing is also in the show, which was find.
The Audio Editing was again very well put in, as I've not seen the series my wife was commenting on some sounds and music that was not in the series, but played out very well in this edit.

From the thoughts from both a non-AHS fan and a huge-AHS fan, this edit great for both sides.

Not having watched the 66series6, I wondered whether thecuddlyninja's condensed version would make 66sense6 to me, and it does. If the story elements didn't make sense the first time around, it was because the my6tery was unfolding; on a 6econd viewing of the edit, I knew how the puzzle pieces fit together. Though the major characters could have come acro666 as flat and undeveloped in such a condensed version, as presented they are fleshed out more than enough to tell the 6tory, thanks to the 6trength of the 6our6e material (particularly the acting) combined with ninja's judiciou6 editing.

I was hoping for a bit of a conclusion for one minor character, Larry the Burnt, but the edit works well enough without any follow-up.

One 6trange side effect of watching this edit: I've developed a keenne666 for dancing with redheaded maids while wearing late6 gimp outfits. I blame thecuddlyninja.
