I was fortunate enough to get a copy of this from the editor.

First off, let me preface this by stating that I am a huge fan of the MCU, and really admire the effort that Marvel has expended to create a cohesive universe for their characters. That said, Avengers is not one of my favorite films in the series.

We have this apparently huge secret organization essentially running the planet, and no one knows about it--but that's acceptable, and there's no fallout from the events in NY. I had a difficult time swallowing that.

What this edit does is add in the deleted scenes, and bring back something much closer to Whedon's original vision of the film. He humanizes the characters, and gives SHIELD some pushback against the "World Council" through the Maria Hill debrief, which now frames the film, and also makes the events of the film, at least in my opinion, more believable.

The edits are, to my eyes, seamless. The film is richer with the addition of the scenes, and makes the story, especially the Steve Rogers story, much deeper.

This will be the version I choose to watch going forward. Great job!!

I absolutely loved this edit, I think the film has a better flow with the alternate opening and closing scenes with Maria Hill. Sam has restored just about as much as he physically could without compromising the use of unfinished scenes and the result is fantastic. Ashley Johnson's waitress has a fair bit more screen time now though it does seem a little out of place given she is quiet for the majority of it, but I love Ashley Johnson and the news interview at the end lets Cap'n have a nice bit of recognition.

if my enjoyment of the theatrical cut was 8/10 this definitely bumps it up to a 9.5

I loved this edit. The deleted material was put back in seamlessly. If I hadn't seen the theatrical cut way too many times I would not have known what was added. I watched this with my wife and kid and they had no idea this was a fan edit. Great job all around.

While some of the deleted scenes added great character moments, like Cap's alternate intro and Banner's interaction with the custodian, the original film works perfectly fine without them and is a tighter film because of it. Also, many of those deleted scenes are of a lower picture quality and stick out compared to the rest of the film.

Overall, it was a fun watch of one of my favorite MCU movies and one of my favorite movies period, and I highly recommend it.

So, i loved ALMOST everything about this edit, except the waitress scenes. Those are terrible quality video and audio wise, and they don't add anything to the story, in fact, they slow those sections of the story down and the pay off is the same for what we already had, which is to say: very little. That said, the quality of those scenes are not the editor's fault, and they are put in as seamlessly as possible. Also, the other scenes, with Cap, with Banner and the custodian, all of that is exceptional and adds so much to the narrative. Overall this is a great edit because of those additions, but I really wish the waitress scenes were removed.
