Agent 9's audio work in this edit is great, replacing the soundtrack in parts of the movie with more classical Terminator-tunes, really heightens the enjoyment. I also liked the new colour for the movie.

Audio/Video-quality could have been better though, a bigger filesize (maybe even 1080p) and more bitrate for the audio-track (128kb/s is imho a bit too little for stereo, 320 kb/s would have been better).

Narrative wise, it all works and makes sense mostly, and the pacing is faster. But it felt like it was over just a bit too fast, maybe here and there a bit slower pacing would have helped. What I missed a bit was a bit more scenes for Marcus and Blair to help with their relation, so that it becomes more beliveable that she would help him escape.

I recommend this edit, especially because of the new soundtrack and colour, and if you like a fast pacing, you'll love this edit.

Pretty much exactly what ssj wrote.
Positive:
The intro credits were very well done.
Negative:
Some music changes were too obvious and distracted me from the movie experience.
The bitrate of the 720p version was not high enough in the darker scenes, which caused very visible artifacts.
Overall:
This was a good fanedit, the changes all improve on the original, but it does not make this a great or even good movie and this will have been (if there is not another even more daring fanedit) the last time I have willingly watched any of it.
Perhaps my expectations were too high on this one; the superhigh ratings from the others, who watched it, tempted me.

hey everyone, steelio here with another review. back when salvation came out, i enjoyed it but didn't love it. it didn't feel like the T4 we deserved. this edit does a great job of making it feel like the T4 we could put alongside the previous films. gone are the washed out colors. the film looks beautiful. the music was great, especially with the terminator theme added in. i'd recommend this edit to everyone. if you didn't like the original, give this a chance. it's now my definitive version. it is T4.

Agent 9 has done a great job with this edit and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It really is better in every way compared to the theatrical release and will be go to copy moving forward. I echo many of the other reviews in the technical improvements this edit provides, but most importantly for me this "feels" like a proper Terminator movie and that's the point. Well done!

A much better experience than the original film. It cuts out all the stupid, unnecessary stuff and strengths the film as a whole despite it's fundamental flaws. Marcus' back story is strengthened by actually keeping his identity a mystery from the start and leaving the viewer in suspense as to who he is and why he was created. Unfortunately, there isn't really enough source material to fully support all of the new ideas expressed here, but it's still highly watchable and understandable. This is a huge step towards what the movie should have been from the beginning.
