I am one of the few who actually enjoyed Terminator 3 in its original form. Definitely, it had some failings but realistically, so did the previous two films in their original form as well.

Removing the love story between Kate and John, to me, removes a key, integral component of the film. Removing things like Ahnold putting on the male stripper's sunglasses, getting keys from the viser, Terminatrix grabbing Ahnold's crotch in the bathroom fight, Terminatrix looking at herself in the mirror, and a couple one-liners: great. Removing Kate as the focus for John's future is a mistake in my opinion. Doing that, causes the story to fall flat. Both prior Terminators had humans finding or re-discovering love to make them remember their humanity.

Video and audio quality is superb but the story is just empty when Kate is stripped of her love interest for John, which includes the discussion about kissing for the first time and meeting at the party. These two things also drastically remove the idea of fate from the film, which was the largest appeal for me. All great mythologies--Terminator being no exception--have that aspect and it is necessary to make John Connor transform into a "great military leader."

Aside from that, the pacing is excellent as the action just keeps coming. I would recommend making another version with Kate re-integrated.

I'm sure many will disagree as evidenced by the numerous rave reviews but I find the movie very lacking without that key component.

A huge improvement over the embarrassment that was "Rise of the Machines" -- an early pioneer of the "let's undercut every serious moment in this genre film with tons of bathetic humour" (aka the MCU approach), to say nothing of it being a rehash of the plot of T2 without the redemptive ending of that film. T3 may still be glorified fan-fiction but at least under the editing auspices of Uncanny Antman, it's an enjoyable and breezy sci-fi actioner with better robot battles and car chases than I remembered from my initial viewing. This should undoubtedly be the only way anyone watches this movie going forward, as this edit definitely elevates T3 to one of the better entries in the Terminator canon, and possibly the best non-Cameron entry.

As far as edits go, this is a nearly flawless one and fixes the movie wholly. That's not to say it's on par with T1 or T2, but it's a solid entry into the series now. If I had to rate the movie itself after the edit, it's a solid 7/10, which is a pretty big leap from the 5/10 I originally gave it. Unfortunately with weak films it's not exactly possible to fix everything wrong with them as some elements are necessary tot he story and if they're originally films in a hokey way, that hokeyness will remain. Also a lot of the CGI in this film was kind of poorly done (no fault of the edit), so there are just some natural weak points here.

Ultimately, if you had any hopes of T3 being redeemed, this is it. It's an excellent edit and makes the film actually good. It's a shame there's no HD option though.

unbelievable what the editor did here.

you took a shitnugget and turned into an actual watchable movie, a terminator movie nontheless.

truth be told - something is still missing from this movie, what no fanedit can fix - heart.
but you fixed all the god aweful, stupid shit that was in the original.

i would have never called it, that T3 could be more then a flyswarmed turd, but i bow down to you.
