The Wraith Edit effectively focuses on the adult Clarck Kent/Superman and removes the development (background story) that led to the creation of the adult's character. This fanedit is effectively a movie-version of the same format that was presented in the 1950s George Reeves Superman TV series.
Back in the '50s, with the exception of the first ten-minutes of the first episode, the entire TV series of Superman was devoted to Superman and his various adventures. Likewise, this fanedit is presented with the storyline revolving entirely around Superman/Kent, his adult co-workers at the Daily Planet, and his enemies (Lex Luthor and the Kryptonian ciminals).
As a stand-alone film, the Wraith Cut is brilliant. My only criticism of the movie is the title...
...it should have been called Superman: The George Reeves Cut.
