RAW is right. watch Starship Troopers as Heinlein wished it were imagined for the screen in the first place. Here we have a fun action adventure with all the usual sci-fi craziness that you would expect from hunting down large disgusting BUGS without all the silly love interest and cheese. A tightly paced war movie! Awesome.
This is a fantastic edit. Had I not seen the original I would never had known there were any romantic entanglements between the characters. This version is infinitely better than the theatrical release.
This was an interesting fanedit. Starship Troopers is such a great guilty pleasure movie for me, I thought it was terrible when I first saw it but as I got older I understood satire better and now I think it’s pretty brilliant. But with this edit, it takes away everything that was brilliant. It’s a terrible terrible movie now. Narratively speaking, it’s a piece of shit. Entertainment-wise it’s still a whole hell of a lot of fun to watch. (Not quite on par with Saving Private Ryan, I must say.)
