Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi: Anti-Cringe-Cut

A terrible movie with terrible cast ( fin, poe, asian-whattever, leia and luke) that now is interesting and an value addition to the star wars universe.
From my point of view some more chieldists scenes could be removed, like fin in watersuit, the cave-mirrors, the islands natives, the no point yoda, fin in entrance of the fort, fin in the speeders, and the worse part is the luke illusion scenes, just make him die already in the massive attack and dont show him again. Im sorry if im arsh but this movie and the next one just pisses me off.

Great Edit, it made the movie a lot better. Now i can at least watch Episode VIII without bursting into tears.

(Note: I'm not writing this review to put down DonKamillo at all or to insult him. He seems like a great editor, and I'm looking forward to see whatever else he has in store for the fan editing community.)

After hearing a lot about DonKamillo's Anti Cringe cut, and how it fixed The Last Jedi for a lot of people, I decided to give it a watch.

The video and audio quality and editing is perfect and seamless. 10/10 there.

The narrative, however, is not my favorite.

Yes, the Canto Bight scenes and Finn and Rose's escapades are cut (and for the better), which does fix the narrative some, but this edit does in fact retain Luke being a crotchety old man who's lost all faith in everything, which is something I did not like in the regular film. That being said, I couldn't fully enjoy the edit.

However, like I said, DonKamillo did a brilliant and seamless job editing in general and with cutting out the different stupid and annoying moments. I also liked they he did not have Luke about to kill Ben Solo in his flashback sequence, and I loved the rearranged scene where he moved Leia's "wipe that expression off your face, Threepio" during one of the battles. It fit perfectly like a glove and helps relieve a bit of tension in the scene.

Unfortunately, (and I'm sorry if this offends DonKamillo), I stopped about halfway through, because I lost interest.

All that being said, what DonKamillo set out to do, in regards to cutting out annoying, cringe moments from this movie: great job! I do recommend this edit for those who liked the Last Jedi, but just wanted those issues gone.

However, I don't recommend this edit for anyone who are expecting a complete narrative overhaul.

In regards to stopping about halfway through, I may go back and fully watch this edit. And if my mind changes about anything, I'll make a new review to reflect how I may feel then.

This is by far the best version of TLJ that I've seen. The theatrical cut was a disaster and DonKamillo has turned a movie that I loathed for ruining Star Wars into one that I actually enjoy now. All the SJW woke rubbish is gone and you can enjoy the movie without the progressive stuff being rammed down your throat. It also presents the Luke that we all know and love. Thank you for this.

I can't comment on the technical aspects of the edit apart from the fact that I didn't notice anything that drew me out of the movie. Therefore I give it a 10.

The only challenge that I have to note is regarding some of the narrative choices in DonKamillo's TLJ that setup what is an ambitious and challenging TROS anti cringe cut. Many bold narrative choices are made in DonKamillo's TROS, which is to be commended, some of which are established in DonKamillo's TLJ . The radical edit of TROS anti cringe cut is a more challenging viewing and may not be everybody's cup of tea. In my opinion this is due to the pacing and shorter cut scenes, making the story difficult to follow. This is through no error of DonKamillo but rather attributed to the poor source material and lack of deleted scenes (I note that this is not yet the definitive version). The reason that I raise this is because DonKamillo's TLJ is so fantastic but viewers may want to pair it with a different fan edit of TROS until DonKamillo's ROTS Definitive Cut is released, The only issue is that DonKamillo's TLJ is only really compatible with DonKamillo's TROS from a narrative persespective and cannot be watched with other versions of TROS. But as a stand alone movie TLJ Anti Cringe Cut is THE BEST!!!!

Thank you for putting my love back into Star Wars. I will be showing my kids this version.
