After watching this movie in theaters, I wasn't sure if I would ever rewatch it. But upon finding this edit, I figured I would try to rewatch it. This fanedit makes some great changes to make this movie feel both planned, and the end to the saga. I was very happy with many of the trims and cuts (such as light skipping, some awkward jokes/one-liners, and unnecessary dialogue).
My favorite part of this version is the added VFX. The scene with the addition of the force ghosts at the end gives me chills, something that Disney was unable to do. Overall, the movie is a lot better, and this is the only version I will be watching!

This was one of the few star wars films that I really couldn't be bothered to rewatch. The excess of dangling plot points and McGuffins often left me feeling exasperated and removed from whatever convoluted story was being told on screen. This edit helped to trim a lot of the fat from the original movie, and helped deliver a much cleaner experience that does not deviate at all from the original plot. And while I still have my gripes with the original, the edit provided the film with such a glowup that I was inspired to rewatch this trilogy through Hal9000's lens.

This got to be the first time I read so many changes done to a movie with so little time cut or added! The amount of work done to this edit is incredible.

I didn't like this movie, almost at all, and I was very reluctant in watching an edit with only 4 minutes removed from the film. To give an example, the previous edit I watched was the "Anti-Cringe Cut" which removed 45 minutes. That's how much I disliked this movie. When I watched the 'Ascendant' though, the edit was so good that it made me question if I indeed did not like the original movie that much or maybe it grew on me the last four years that have passed! And then I read the list of changes, I didn't read them before watching this, and I realized that it wasn't that the movie grew on me, it was the edit that was that good. Which is also a testament to how excellent it was technical-wise. Granted, some core stuff from the plot still bothered me, but it was much more digestible now.

So, I definitely recommend this edit to anyone who can accept the fact that all the core plot elements stay, but want to see a much more polished version of the movie! For more aggressive edits check the "Anti-Cringe Cut" by DonKamillo, although it has many problems in my opinion, and the "Final Order" by Spence.

Thank you HAL9000 for all your hard work, thanks to anyone who read my review and may the force be with you!

I can't recommend this edit enough. It is my go to version for watching TROS. This version does so much to make the ST connect and feel like it was actually planned out. The vfx work to add the sacrifice of Luke to Pasanna is awesome. The way that HAL 9000 incorporates the Force ghosts works really well, and is what I expected to see in the theater. My favorite aspect of the edit are the planet celebrations added at the end. I've always felt that the ST needed more PT connections and this movie definitely delivers on that.

This was one of the best Star Wars fan edits I have ever watched. The best visual editing I've ever seen. The adding of Knights of Ren voices is perfect. All the stuff he added was perfect. Love it so much. I also suggest the "Rey Nobody" version which is great too. Cheers friend!
