Ever wanted to cry during Episode I and still be able to look at yourself in the mirror? Well the Ridiculous Menace gives you that chance.

There's not much else to say that hasn't already been said. This edit is hilarious. Also, as others have stated, it's kind of rough. But, for the most part, you can tell what joke is being made, and even though it might not sound right, you'll still get the joke, and you'll still laugh. And there really are some great jokes in there. And there are some that I don't get, but I don't really care. That didn't detract from my enjoyment, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who did get those jokes.

The biggest problem with the edit is the length. Two hours is too long for a comedy. Now, I've seen comedies that are two hours that I love. Those runtimes work, because those films have a story. And when I say story, I mean a good story. Ridiculous Menace has a story, but it's not a good one. So it takes a backseat. You don't care about it. The only problem is, honestly, it's still there, and it makes the film lag. As do some of the jokes, which go on for too long. I think this needed to be at least twenty minutes shorter.

Anyway, irregardless, this edit is great. TV's Frink did a hysterical job (in a good way). Show this to your friends.

I haven’t laughed this hard all year.

Technical quality – 10/10 – audio and video were both fine.

Presentation – 10/10 – nice menu, nice cover art.

Editing – 7/10 – the video editing was flawless and just the fact that you merged all those different scenes and audio clips was incredible. I took off a couple points because the audio editing was so horrible, but you can’t really work around that.

Entertainment – 9/10 – I couldn’t stop laughing. The only non-hilarious parts were a few scenes on Coruscant and some of the ending battle. The rest of it was side-splitting. So many funny jokes. Sometimes they got repetitive but still. This was insanely funny. The soundtrack, the dubbing, the yippees, the podrace, the angel jokes, the droids, the video game health bars, Anakin’s father, the list goes on and on and on. So hilarious. I’ll definitely be recommending this one. Would have gotten a point higher if you had somehow been able to make the audio editing a bit smoother.

Overall – 8/10

Trumps The Phantom Edit by chubby margins. This is now my definitive go-to version of Episold 1. Deal with that, Mr. Lucas.

Certain parts are brilliant and righteously nuts.

Bravo with thunderous applesauce, Frink!

Ever since The Phantom Menace was released in 1999, many fan editors (including myself) have sought far and wide to create the perfect edit of Episode I. Many have fought to fix the flaws and inconsistencies of the film, and some have even gone to the far ends of the earth to make just a simple line sing.

And then there's this edit.

TV's Frink's The Ridiculous Menace is the Airplane! of Star Wars fanedits! There is no oscar-worthy stuff here. There is no deep, brilliant or thought-provoking stuff going on. It's only purpose is to get you to laugh to the point where it hurts. And laugh I did! I laughed during the opening credits! I laughed at the constant repetition of lines and the constantly altered dialogue! I laughed at the extending of the films worst moments and the destruction of the film's best moments! I laughed!

If you're looking for the perfect edit of Episode I, see l8wrtr's edit or HAL9000's edit, or better yet, see my edit, because I'm a shameless self-promoter! But if you're looking for an uproariously good time, and a nice little primer on how NOT to fix Episode I, see The Ridiculous Menace and enjoy how phenomenally insane this edit can get!

Now, if I could only get my hands on Episode II....
