Star Wars: Episode I - Cloak Of Deception

This was a great edit! I really enjoyed watching it. The editing was super smooth. I haven't seen this movie in years so I honestly wasn't sure what was removed and what was changed (for the most part). There were a few scenes that I remembered and could tell were changed but not because of bad editing. It was seamless and smooth all throughout. The only issue I had was the audio seemed to grow louder and then quieter. I can't be sure if this was due to my setup or if there was an issue with the video (I was using a Roku streamer pro and using the 5.1 audio). Other than that, it was amazing.
My personal opinion of my enjoyment of it (and why I only gave it an 8). This was a hard one to rate because I honestly don't think my personal enjoyment should factor into this since everyone's opinion of how an edit should be is different. That said, here it is. I feel that the prequels are pretty poorly made. There is a lot that could be and should be edited in them. I felt like this edit was way too tame. There were still a lot of silly moments and plot points that remained after the edit that I wish had been removed/changed. But, if someone wants to watch this movie with the original flow but with a little less silliness, this is an amazing choice for it. Great job, and I highly recommend watching it.

A belated review for an epic edit. This is the best we can hope for with the source material of the woeful theatrical cut. The political elements were cut down so the plot makes sense, Jar Jar is cut down, and the action is emphasized. Fantastic work!

This is absolutely an improvement over the original. I did not miss any of the removed content. That said, it's hard to convert a bad movie into a great movie. So this ends up being more like a "not bad" movie.

I am just recently getting into fan-edits, and I've heard about the infamous Hal9000 cuts for years. Now I'm a full blown fan edit fiend. The way that the story is recut to improve upon various aspects, but especially the Jar Jar Binks narrative, totally changes the way the movie flows. I don't think I rolled my eyes even once. I couldn't be more impressed with the cut. I personally watch the Star Wars saga every few months, and have been doing so since I was a kid. Blows my mind to see it and feel it so differently. Phenomenal job.

I gave this all 10's, but keep in mind I am considering what was available to work with, as I do in all of my reviews. Hal9000 did a fantastic job with this. I found this very enjoyable. It is now my go to version of Ep I.
