Want to first thank you for sharing this edit with me. I appreciate everything that you did do with the movie. I am not sure that I will ever really like the sequels. I am envious of those who do like it. I think the entire 3 episodes need to be chopped up and rearranged to tell the story in a more cohesive way. Getting trained by luke then leia, then having han die and her first fight with keylo. Different music scores, some from the original trilogy. Less negativity from Reys character. She goes out of her way to be nasty and rude. If you are watching closely. But back to the edit. I think if you have never seen the sequels then these edits would be great for you. As you will feel less turned off by the development of the movies.

This review is for version 3.04 HQ of the 4.5+ hr cut.

For me, Wakeupkeo did a great job with Episodes VI and VII.

Episode VI's resequencing tightened up the movie and made it more enjoyable. I think there is an opportunity to make the treat to the Republic Capitol clearer - earlier and tenser. Also, one character appears at the Republic Capitol while earlier appears with Lea at the Resistance base, which adds some confusion.

Episode VII is still my favorite of this trilogy and section of the edit.

Episode VIII is easily the weakest of the trilogy and section of this edit. I appreciate that the editor tried to tighten up this bloated movie and wrap it up strong. Most of the content excised I don't ever need to watch again, but I think some needs to be added back for context, character, and narrative. Examples:
Kylo pops up to battle Rey out of nowhere. Lando emerges from the shadows on the Resistance base like he's been there the whole time, just waiting to drop some knowledge on Poe. Kylo heals Rey in the middle of the battle with Palpatine - while I like this idea, I didn't buy Palpatine chilling off-screen for such an extended period.
Additionally, it would make the story more cohesive to connect Rey and Kylo at least once more in this section of the edit. There are other issues here, but those are the ones that I remember.

I was going to suggest adding Chapter Titles or something to indicate/ease the transition between sections and because I don't think it works to call this Episode VI overall. Now that I'm writing this, I'm not sure that's the right solution. I did enjoy experiencing all three of the movies flowing into each other. Another solution might be to allow the space travel for Ray and Chewie from the Resistance base to Luke and Kylo's journey to Palpatine more time on-screen.

Regardless this is the best version of these three movies I've watched, and I enjoyed the first 3.75 hrs or so! Wakeupkeo certainly made a bad trilogy less bad! I'll need to watch the Anti-TLJ Cut at some point as well. Thanks for your efforts!

First of all, given the crappy source material, this is a very well-done fan edits (all three versions are enjoyable). The BEST segment in all of the versions was the Force Awakens editing. By cutting down the talk, by significantly cutting down the Rathtar sequence, and having the final battle of TFA sequence re-edited to show real tension (and what a payoff!).

However, as best as you can edit, there is no saving the sequels. The faulty McGuffin from TLJ and the absolutely ridiculous storylines and pacing from TROS made your job very difficult. Still, it is a laudable effort, and, of course, to be completely honest, I enjoyed your edits MUCH more than the theatrical and DVD versions of all three. They were really seamless. Bravo!

[Spoilers} The Pro-TLJ sequence with the blue light saber, fleet destruction and Holdo were spot-on and the BEST version of that conclusion.

Ha ha this is a very complimentary "bad review"! Thank you for taking the time to check it all of the versions out! This is a polarizing trilogy to work with, to say the least, and definitely fits the "Bad Movies Made Less Bad" title... lol

First off I do not like the Disney sequels at all, so with that being said I tried to enjoy this but I just couldn’t.
The first act which is TFA is mostly good, I like the restructured parts with the Death Star 3.0, the opening crawl explaining the state of the galaxy was also good, something Disney forgot to do.
But when it comes to TLJ it begins falling apart.
Whilst the slow motion space chase is removed along with the casino scenes, there’s really nothing left except grumpy Luke and superhero Rey. I will give credit to the editor for making Luke less grumpy, but he still doesn’t do anything and Rey still falls for Kylo.
The third act is still a disaster snd I can’t help but roll my eyes with any scene from that film. It’s completely unsalvageable.
Oh and kudos to the editor for adding snippets and hints of Palpatine throughout the edit, but I still can’t buy it and will be happy to never see TROS again. .

The sequel trilogy is, from start to finish, an utter trainwreck without any logic or plan in place. Editing one movie into something good is an enormous task but doing so for a whole trilogy is nearly impossible.

Wakeupkeo did a fairly admirable job distilling the wreckage into something more cohesive and (thank god) shorter to consume rather than sitting through 3 long and meandering movies. It still has some logical inconsistencies, but that's not entirely the fan editor's fault. The Canto Bight sequence is something that should have been excised, and other edits have done that (as well as cutting out Benicio Del Toro's character) well enough, speeding up the Last Jedi section and removing the awfulness of that entire time waster.

Overall, if you like the sequel trilogy you'll like this more. If you hate it (as I do) you'll hate it a little less. I wouldn't recommend the edit to someone who dislikes this trilogy but for sure would to a full fledged or on the fence fan.

Thanks for the honest review! I wish you watched the Anti-TJL Cut that excised Canto and the space chase, probably more your style, but fair criticism.
