First of all, the opening and closing animations are beautiful and work very well.

After seeing the way this edit creates a non-linear story, it made me feel like the original Trilogy should have been done like this from the beginning. It just feels right. Congrats to Wraith for such a vision.

The pacing improves a lot. Although there are still issues (that are inescapable because of the source material), going from 353 to 209 minutes is impressive. Never felt “Split Unbreakable Glass” was going too fast or too slow, it looks perfect now.

All the unnecessary dialogue and scenes were cut, and they’re really not needed at all. The Shyamalan’s cameos being gone is a relief, they’re just distractions to the story.

All in all, can’t recommend this enough. It replaces the Trilogy for me
Cheers

I really enjoyed this edit.

Per the recommendation of the editor, I watched it one sitting on a weekend.

Thematically, it works really well. The flashbacks, the character introductions all mesh so well. It was certainly a welcome and uniwue viewing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone.

Overall, this is a strong edit and I look forward to the Editor's future projects.

This edit sits in a weird place for me. The idea behind combining three films into one works perfectly here, and I had very little (if any) to complain about in that regard. The pacing was great, the title screens and music that was added in to supplement the structure was fantastic and flawless, and I rated it as such.

However, while I very much enjoyed Unbreakable and Split as individual movies, I absolutely hated Glass. The awful trope of the generic shadowy organization that was included in Glass just absolutely killed it for me. I could live with every single other flaw in that movie but it just completely derailed it for me (Hancock is another prime example of this, albeit slightly different).
I was hoping against hope that Wraith would find a way to remove all traces of this shadow organization, and I don't fault him for leaving it in (it would probably ruin the integrity of the movie if all those scenes were cut/trimmed) it DID diminish my enjoyment of the film as a whole.

I wondered if there was any way to start having more of the Glass content show up earlier in the film. It felt like Glass was trying to encase the stories of Unbreakable and Split (as intended) but didn't quite capture that element perfectly for me. It felt like I was watching Unbreakable and Split interlaced together, and then afterwards I was watching Glass with some extended flashbacks.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, all of the other flaws with Glass were trimmed/adjusted in a way to VASTLY improve the quality of that portion of the movie, and was improved even more by blending it with the other two films. I was also bummed to see so much of Split removed, but I understand the necessity, and I again do not hold that against Wraith, as the inclusion of any more of Unbreakable and Split would have obliterated the pacing.

Is this project worth watching? Absolutely. This cut made Glass tolerable enough that I sat through the entirety of it. Is this project greater than the sum of its parts? I think if you hated Glass less than I did, your answer will most certainly be yes.

Props to you Wraith, sorry if this review seems super negative, you have absolutely achieved greatness here.

Thanks for the review and considered comments. Shame that this could not redeem Glass a tad for you, but at least you were propelled through the journey.

The was a great way to examine the trilogy, it was edited flawlessly and the intro and outro sequences were exceptionally well done, but I think Unbreakable in particular suffered from the amount cut. It might be spoiled by the fact that it's a contender for my favourite movie of all time, but it's greatest strength is the slow build up to a complete understanding, which is removed by making it only one third of the movie. Split is also lessened in my opinion, not because of losing anything important, just because I feel the events of the movie happen to quickly. Glass is the only part I can say is improved. It definitely feels better as a final act than as a movie in itself, and I prefer Mr. Glass to be the one to release the videos, though it makes the supporting characters feel a little less important, especially since their roles are cut down in the previous parts.
While the way the edit is arranged does well to highlight the thematic and narrative connections between moments in these movies, from what I could tell it doesn't create these connections. They all still exist in the original movies, they're just presented more plainly here.
While this is a fun way to watch the movies, it's nowhere near an improvement. It couldn't replace them in my eyes.

This is another fantastic achievement in combining films! While I did prefer UGS, was a really fun companion piece. I almost didn't watch it because both are so long, but right from the first 10 minutes I knew I was going to finish it. "Wraith, you genius, you got me!"

The more separated narratives when compared to UGS work really well, and I liked following the narratives through the timeline. What I think this movie lacks is Kevin's psychiatrist. She works really really well as a counterpoint to Dr Ellie Staple, and really develops Kevin in UGS the way that this movie develops Mr Glass.

Both movies are ludicrously complicated and the thought behind them must be staggering, and then to execute with such artistic skill really rounds out the entire package.

Another excellent excellent film from an editing legend!
