The was a great way to examine the trilogy, it was edited flawlessly and the intro and outro sequences were exceptionally well done, but I think Unbreakable in particular suffered from the amount cut. It might be spoiled by the fact that it's a contender for my favourite movie of all time, but it's greatest strength is the slow build up to a complete understanding, which is removed by making it only one third of the movie. Split is also lessened in my opinion, not because of losing anything important, just because I feel the events of the movie happen to quickly. Glass is the only part I can say is improved. It definitely feels better as a final act than as a movie in itself, and I prefer Mr. Glass to be the one to release the videos, though it makes the supporting characters feel a little less important, especially since their roles are cut down in the previous parts.
While the way the edit is arranged does well to highlight the thematic and narrative connections between moments in these movies, from what I could tell it doesn't create these connections. They all still exist in the original movies, they're just presented more plainly here.
While this is a fun way to watch the movies, it's nowhere near an improvement. It couldn't replace them in my eyes.

First of all, the opening and closing animations are beautiful and work very well.

After seeing the way this edit creates a non-linear story, it made me feel like the original Trilogy should have been done like this from the beginning. It just feels right. Congrats to Wraith for such a vision.

The pacing improves a lot. Although there are still issues (that are inescapable because of the source material), going from 353 to 209 minutes is impressive. Never felt “Split Unbreakable Glass” was going too fast or too slow, it looks perfect now.

All the unnecessary dialogue and scenes were cut, and they’re really not needed at all. The Shyamalan’s cameos being gone is a relief, they’re just distractions to the story.

All in all, can’t recommend this enough. It replaces the Trilogy for me
Cheers

Unbreakable is one of my favourite movies, but I thought Split was only okay and Glass was a disappointment, so I was excited about this edit possibly redeeming the trilogy for me but also nervous because I love Unbreakable so much. I'm so happy that one of my first viewings of a fanedit was so good - It all went together so well that I'm going to be hooked on fanedits. I feel so much more satisfaction with the story after watching this edit. I'm excited to watch the alternate UGS edit next. I don't know how much the music was changed, but I swear it was noticeably better at multiple points throughout - maybe it was just that it told the story better too.

So, This is my first review here so go easy on me ;) I was excited to dive into this Fan Edit Scene that I had heard about. My first experience with edits was Harmy's Despecialized and like many it is my go-to for SW.

Anyway, SUG… I came in with absolutely NO expectations. I am very spoiler-adverse and so I did not read the changes break-down, read the overview in detail or watch the trailers before watching the film. I’m a fan of Unbreakable and I liked Split and Glass just fine. I have watched Unbreakable a number of times (was a favourite for a long time) but the other two just once each fully (re-watched in short bits).

First… it is still a long sit. That is not criticism though because I can’t think of anything that felt unneeded. I will be recommending this to friends.

With the opening credits I settled in as I realized just with that this was gonna be something interesting. Before the end of the first act my brain had stopped trying to figure out where we were in the time line and predicting where it was going to go. I don’t think of myself as having any right to be a critic but I’ll just say how this thing made me feel. If I was not aware of the source, I would certainly believe that this was planned to be released this way from the beginning. It felt that Wraith had everything they needed to build a very cohesive and interesting arc… non-linear without ever leaving the viewer lost in time. The final Pay-Off felt complete. There is no assumption that the viewer is stupid and needs spoon feeding. The ending of Glass did not make me feel like I needed to know more about Ellie Staple and her organization, but the ending here did! I don’t need Happy Ever After and was very satisfied with where Wraith decided to leave things… 10s across the board for My Taste, and My movie-watching space.

Well, that’s just my opinion, I may be wrong. I don’t believe this edit will replace the source trilogy, but it sure deserves it’s place in my library right along side of it. (in fact, that has made me consider a full Eastrail re-watch in the near future). I recommend watching this WITHOUT refreshing yourself with the source. I think Wraith did a real service here, (and they also seem like a Kind person as They've been helpful and welcoming to me as a newbie here)

I thought that Wraith did an excellent job mixing this trilogy together into one cohesive, 3.5 hour film. I've seen them all at one point, but I didn't remember much of what actually happened. This fanmix did a great job of covering everything, and the use of flashbacks was real helpful. It is obvious that a lot of work was put into this edit, and I commend Wraith; this will be the only way that I watch this trilogy in the future!
