For some reason, I was not a huge fan of Into the Spider-Verse the first time I watched it. I'd been meaning to revisit it for a while, but kinda forgot about it - the release of this edit certainly jogged my memory.

Edit aside - this film is amazing! I remember feeling it was dull and uninteresting for the majority of the runtime, before picking up in an amazing third act - while I still think the third act is the clear highlight, the first two are nothing to complain about! I was wrong.

As for the edit, it was pretty solid. Most of the integrations - regardless of state/quality - were done pretty well. However, there were a few that I don't think enhanced anything and just distracted me for a moment or two when I got adjusted to the rough sketches and raw animation, and in my opinion detracted from the narrative (not a fan of the on-the-nose "Now you don't have to be Spider-Man" line). Additionally, at some points in the film (particularly those with low-pitch audio), the gain appeared to cap out, leading to a kinda muffled sound - I noticed it specifically on a lot of lines said by Miles' father.

Regardless, I'd recommend checking out this edit. These issues were temporary and unobtrusive overall, and this was still a fun way to revisit the film.

I didn't think it was possible, but Bobson has managed to create an improved version of my favourite superhero movie of all time.

With this pruning of the fascinating-but-incomprehensible Alt-Universe mode from the Blu-ray, which essentially showcased two completely different versions of the same film smashed together, the King of Extended Editions has expanded the already-rich emotional pallette of this rare deserved Oscar-winner to make Miles and Peter's payoffs with their respective family reunions all the more powerful.

Allow me to bestow the ultimate (har har) fan-edit compliment: "this will be my go-to version of the movie from now on."

I loved this so much. Even with how the deleted scenes were (understandably) unfinished, it felt fluid and worked all the way through the credits. It felt like a new experience. Love your edits, will be watching more and reviewing a couple more here soon. Cheers! Much love, and keep up the good work. - Juggy

When I first got the Blu-Ray for ITSV I noticed an "Alternate Universe Mode" with some deleted scenes. However, since it had commentary from the directors, I wasn't really interested in it since I wanted to watch it as just the extended cut. I got that with Bobson's fanedit, but I think I probably should have put more research into the alternate mode.

You see the deleted scenes aren't finished. Not meant as a slam against the editor, he did the best he could and it's probably more me not fully knowing what the deleted scenes were. Which is a shame because a lot of the scenes (especially the extended fight at May's house) were great but them not being finished kinda took me out a bit.

Overall it was enjoyable but not better than the theatrical sadly. (Though I think some editing with the scene of Peter and Miles on the billboard would make it theatrical-quality)

Note I would like to make: Apparently there was an updated version of this edit? Not sure which one I watched then.

I really enjoyed this edit Some deleted scenes though visually incomplete add to the story and are easy to look past the rough quality.
