Brief Synopsis:
Spider-Man 3 Back and Black follows the struggles between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson's relationship, and also more focuses on the side of Sandman and not as much focusing the attention on Venom.
Intention:
As I personally still love the 3rd Spider-Man movie it is not perfect. I wanted to make minor changes to the film so it is more enjoyable, but not majorly different from the original film.
Additional Notes:
I re-scored the classic Peter Parker dance with ACDC's Back In Black as a minor little easter egg.

Special Thanks:
I want to thank DigModiFicatTion for approving this edit. Without him the edit wouldn't be as good as it is now.
Release Information:

Editing Details:
I have removed as many shots of venom from the film as I could as I believe he is a very weak character, and the main reason people hate this film.

SonOfSinbad did warn me that this was only a lite edit but I proceeded anyway.

For the record I don't hate Spider-man 3, but I am looking for a definitive cut. This wasn't it for me but it was still enjoyable nonetheless. I did like the trims to Flint Marko. In the theatrical cut it's hard to accept his atonement because of all the collateral damage he does, maybe I'm misremembering but his attacks during the robbery don't seem quite so brutal. Brock is also slightly improved by slightly less whiney.
For people hoping for less scenery chewing Peter its a bit of yes and no, his motion for wearing the suit seems to be anger, even when he's dancing and showing of, it's his attempt to win MJ back, but gone are the moments of Peter rolling his eyes on the phone and eating cookies. Back in black during the street dance was an inspired choice, it actually works pretty well - though the song did seem slightly louder than the rest of the audio.

At 2 hours this mostly flew by so it's worth a look, it's just not as strict with the cutting room floor as I'd like it to be.

It blows my mind how much I enjoyed Spider-Man 3 on this go around and not even on an ironic level. SonofSinbad cuts corners where they need to be cut, he doesn't over-do it, there's still some frank camp to be found in the film, but that can't be faulted with the editor, those are production, screenwriting, and acting decisions. What Son has done is try to help tenderise the meat of the matter so that everything silly doesn't overstep it, and he suceeds at it. The new ending is also a great touch, involving all three of the troubled friends and giving the climax of their character arcs more hopeful ambiguity as a 'brand new day' dawns.

Highly recommended, edits like this show how much promise sonofsinbad has as an evolving editor.

I've never been much a fan of any of the Raimi Spider-Man films, but surprisingly I always enjoyed this one as a kid (helped that this was one of the few films I owned as a kid, not quite sure why...) Revisited all of them a few years ago and remained mostly unimpressed. It enthuses me to say that this edit made the film fun again, as much as it was when I was a kid. I enjoyed this edit better than either of the first two Raimi films, as for the most part it removed the ACTUAL (non-fun) garbage from the film. I mean it's still a mess, but it's an entirely fun mess when that crap isn't interrupting it.

Again, SOS, congrats on getting your Faneditor status and your first IFDB listing! Looking forward to seeing more from you.

P.S. The one thing I AM curious about is why you went with "Back and Black" as opposed to "Back in Black", which imo both sounds better AND is more relevant to the edit.
