Brief Synopsis:
A strange black entity from another world bonds with Peter Parker and causes inner turmoil as he contends with new villains, temptations, and revenge. This edit combines the Theatrical and somewhat newly released Editor's Cut as well as some shots from the trailers to create the longest possible cut of Spider-Man 3.

Intention:
I wanted to create the illusive "Spider-Man 3.1" cut that fans had been clawing at for years, but since I don't have all the available scenes, this is simply the longest cut with all released deleted scenes.

Editing Details:
The base of this edit was the Editor's Cut and while it does feature many new scenes, it also cuts a few of them from the Theatrical Cut. This edit hybridises the two by adding back the cut scenes from the TC back into the EC as well as some extra snippets from the trailer.
Cuts and Additions:
Changes from the Editor's Cut to the Hybrid Cut
- Added 2 new shots of the Symbiote crawling up Peter's chest and creating the new symbol. The 2 shots have vastly different VFX, so a close up of Peter has been used to space these two shots apart
- Added an alternate ending to the scene of Peter taking the Black Suit off for the first time. Instead of looking down at it and up, and deciding to take it off, he looks back up and sees a quick flash of a Proto-Venom in his reflection before ripping his shirt off
- Reinstated Peter apologising to Mr Ditkovitch and him giving Peter relasionship advice (cut from the EC)
- Reinstated theatrical version of Ursula telling Peter he has a phone call
- Reinstated the spinning newspaper at the start of the James Brown montage. I rotoscoped it out from the JJJ shot and put it on a black background.
- Reinstated Aunt May talking to Peter in his apartment about MJ
- Reinstated Bernard telling Harry that his father killed himself. This scene was replaced by the subsequent scene
Total Runtime: Editor's Cut 02:17:48 and Hybrid Cut 02:23:15

Changes from the Theatrical Cut to the Hybrid Cut
- Cut shot of Sandman comically diving into the sandpit and replaced it with a longer shot of the cops chasing him
- Added 2 new shots of the Symbiote crawling up Peter's chest and creating the new symbol. The 2 shots have vastly different VFX, so a close up of Peter has been used to space these two shots apart
- Added an alternate ending to the scene of Peter taking the Black Suit off for the first time. Instead of looking down at it and up, and deciding to take it off, he looks back up and sees a quick flash of a Proto-Venom in his reflection before ripping his shirt off
- Added a short scene of Peter looking at the Black Suit case contemplatively
- Added a few extra seconds of Sandman looking up in the subway
- Added alternate version of Ursula telling Peter he has a phone call
- Added extended scene of Peter looking at the case with the Black Suit and smiling as he gets it out
- Cut shot of JJJ saying "We haven't printed a retraction in 20 years!" and replaced with longer shot of Eddie walking out
- Added Black Suit Spidey swinging away from the Bugle
- Moved Peter and Harry at the Cafe to after Eddie gets fired
- Added alternate version of Peter and Harry's convasation before they fight
- Moved James Brown funky montage to after Harry and Peter fight
- Added Sandman turning into a sandcastle for his daughter
- Added Harry looking at a photo of himself, Peter and MJ
Total Runtime: Theatrical Cut 02:19:11 and Hybrid Cut 02:23:15

I enjoy the Hybrid Cut, It was a better then the original movie. The extra scenes were good. I liked you put dance scene after the harry fight. That made more sense, it made Peter look more evil. Adding more then 6 minutes made the picture better. I liked that you added the part when the Sandman made the castle for his son. Good job, good edit.

I want to make this clear upfront. This review is NOT a reflection on Bobson's work or skill. The goal with this edit wasn't necessarily to create a good movie, so much as it was to create the longest possible cut of Spider-Man 3 without any scenes removed; akin to restoring a workprint, if you will, rather than fine-tuning or perfecting that workprint. In solely reviewing it from that standpoint, Bobson's restoration is technically flawless (and if they're reading this, well done).

Now a review of the film itself. In short, it's still terrible. If I'm being honest, increasing the runtime actually creates a new problem; in that not only do I not care what's going on, because of how unlikeable and/or underdeveloped some of the characters are, the pacing is now so slow I kept checking my watch to see when it would end. If you're interest in this edit is that the restored material potentially fixes or improves the film, manage your expectations.

I'll re-iterate, this edit constitutes a technical experiment in restoring an original film's workprint. While Bobson succeeds in doing that with flying colors, alas it does not constitute a good film.

Like all of Bobson's other edits, perfect. I loved all the new scenes and didn't even notice any editing. I can't stand it when new versions of films also take out scenes, so this hybrid cut is perfect.

I loved that the Editor's cut added the sandcastle scene and re-ordered the emo section, but I hated that it cut precious Ditkovich and Aunt May scenes, this fixes that entirely.
Best of both worlds, nuff said!

So, this one. Yeah, I'm biased towards this movie. I grew up watching these Raimi spiderman movies, and i loved them. When I rewatched them, spiderman 3 definitely stood out, obviously because of its flaws. It was muddled by studio interferences and it didn't have all of Raimi's heart in it. But now with this cut, the mythical Bobson Dugnutt has seemingly restored this tonally right heart back in the movie. Well, the symbiote is still an unnecessary bug, but watch it for Spider-Man. Watch it for Dugnutt's vision. The choices for the screenplay effectively combing the theatrical and the editor's cut make this movie more coherent than ever. Also, you will know that this is the most complete version of this movie, full of all the original elements.
