A good ending is not necessarily a happy one. This is the main point this edit proves, and does it exquisitely.
I enjoyed the Theatrical Cut, yet was confused by its ending. I felt it didn't do justice with the rest of the film and sacrificed its internal logic in favor of a saccharine twist. This edit fixes that issue, as well as a few smaller issues I did not remember, but upon comparison seem well deserving.
The technical aspects, as always, are perfect and seamless.
All in all a very recommended edit.
What could i possibly say about this edit other then stunning?
I rembered the original pretty good despite the fact i´ve watched it 7 years ago. Loved it back then but always was troubled by this heartwarming hollywood ending. Your edit may be sadder but way more comforting for the character. Barely noticed your changes, so hats off to you. The phone call to his dad is well placed.
Its been a while since I saw the original, so I couldn't exactly tell or remember where certain scenes differed, which means this was very well done! Great pacing and the ending is way more impactful and meaningful than the original. Great edit and my go to recommendation for a fan-edit from now on. Thank you
This was easily one of my most favorite fanedits I've seen till date. The editing is seamless and so is the re-scoring of certain scenes, which shines especially with the re-worked finale. The aforementioned re-worked finale really injects the film with a new lease on life.It surely gives Colter's arc a much more meaningful finish then that haphazardly rushed romantic end the theatrical end used in a bid to send the audience back happy.
