Source Code is a tight, simple, and extremely moving film with an ending that completely wastes the precious emotion that builds up throughout the movie. This edit COMPLETELY fixes the movie in such an elegant, perfect way that its hard to describe without seeing. It makes the ending moments infinitely more impactful and thought-provoking. The smaller edits were smart and were expertly done. I particularly like what was done with the last phone call, a great decision. 10/10 on all fronts. I enjoyed Source Code originally but in its original form it didn't really stand out to me. Now its pretty much a perfect movie and I will be shoving it down the throats of everyone around me. Thank you so much.

Wow - kind words! So glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for taking the time to review and giving such a generous rating.

Now that I own the blu-ray, I'll hopefully get round to doing an HD version sometime.

It's seamless, and I think that's all I got to say to recommend this edit. I remember being very attached to the characters the first time I watched this film compared to now, but then that could have been my preference at that time since the edits before the ending are minor.

So watched this over the last couple of days and it's really well done. Editing is great, quality holds up still really nicely and the new ending did fit really well. It really left me feeling sad of course unlike the original, but I like the darker ending, while still being a kind of nice send off for the character. Always thought this film was great, and nice to give it some new life.

Thanks so much for your work!

I never really had a huge problem with the 'tacked on' original happy ending of Source Code on my first viewing, its the way Hollywood do things as a rule so it never really ocurred to me before seeing this that a revision was needed. Having watched this new edit and having gone back and revisited the original ending too, Boy.. did this need an edit! The original ending really doesn't make any sense at all given the context of everything that comes before it and the new ending devised here (I won't spoil it) is a VAST improvement on the original ending. There's a few nips and tuck throughout the movie that I probably wouldn't have even noticed had I not took a look at the in-the-works thread so that is testament to the skil of the editor in this too. The new ending is much more emotional than the original, a little more downbeat maybe but far more logical and lifts the mnovie from being one of the better sci-fi movies of the last decade to one of the best! Well worth a revisit with this new ending!

I liked Source Code well enough when it came out, but Edge of Tomorrow kind of dominated the space it had established when it came out, and thereafter. This recut is interesting, and feels like a purer science fiction approach, but I think more extensive cutting would be helpful to remove even the suggestion that the loops Gyllenhaal is living through could in fact be parallel dimensions, as the ultimate conclusion (beautifully handled visually) doesn't jive with those suggestions at all.
