First off, I’m not a huge fan of Zombie’s film and that’s probably due to the corny dialog and making heroes out of monsters. This family should be hated, period. I am a big fan of revenge movies (just went to see LAW ABIDING CITIZEN) so I enjoyed the focus of this edit being put on the revenge factor. Love him or hate him, this Sheriff kicks ass! So this edit removes a lot of the silly dialog which is a big plus and I love the ending that gets right to the point (I won’t ruin it for anyone). So I don’t want to give anything away but I just wanted to comment on the work put into this edit which is seemless and very impressive. I really prefer this version over Zombie’s because it does make me hate the Firefly family. I’m a big fan of films from the 70′s and this new ending reminds me of a lot of those movies. This disc also has some great extras like a commentary (Tranzor shares lots of great info!), a black and white version of the film (which I haven’t watched in it’s entireity yet) & the DEATH WISH 3 game which I tried a couple of times but got a beat down by a bunch of thugs in a prison cell. As I already mentioned, I’m not a huge fan of this RZ film but I do like it and this new version is much better because it removes lots of stupid dialog and makes us fear the Firefly family which is what Zombie should have done to begin with. A+

I cannot agree xGrind. It’s still a godawful RZ movie. Actually I did not spot the “a 1970's road movie appeal”. Sorry.

I thoght this was a great edit and overall I enjoyed the work done. This version does have a 1970s road film feel like the edit was shooting for. I especially dug the alternate ending. The commentary was funny at times and the black and white version looked amazing. Great job and truly a fne edit. Thanks to the guy (?) who did this.

Very interesting and much improving take on a godawful RZ movie. You’ve got talent. I enjoyed the b/w version. Great DVD. I give it an 8.

I did like the original movie (not a masterpiece, but an entertaining creepy movie)
but one thing I did not like much in the original is that the rejects were almost shown as cool badasses. Now they a’re more “monsters” as said tranzor.
Less family’s silly moments screentime means more focus on the Sheriff and his revenge, indeed.
So I think the main goal of the faneditor is reached.
Does that make it a better movie? Depends of the audience I suppose. To me it’s: yes.
The black and white is a must see if you want a more creepy feeling.
I just feel that one or two new transitions could have been done another way, but I talked with tranzor and understood his reasons.

So I’d give the original a 7/10
Tranzor edit: 8/10.
and the black and white tranzor edit 9/10
(+1 point just to turn the movie black and white may seems a bit too much but I really think it’s a plus for the edit.
The high contrast gives to some scenes an almost abstract feeling that I really liked)
