First off, I’m not a huge fan of Zombie’s film and that’s probably due to the corny dialog and making heroes out of monsters. This family should be hated, period. I am a big fan of revenge movies (just went to see LAW ABIDING CITIZEN) so I enjoyed the focus of this edit being put on the revenge factor. Love him or hate him, this Sheriff kicks ass! So this edit removes a lot of the silly dialog which is a big plus and I love the ending that gets right to the point (I won’t ruin it for anyone). So I don’t want to give anything away but I just wanted to comment on the work put into this edit which is seemless and very impressive. I really prefer this version over Zombie’s because it does make me hate the Firefly family. I’m a big fan of films from the 70′s and this new ending reminds me of a lot of those movies. This disc also has some great extras like a commentary (Tranzor shares lots of great info!), a black and white version of the film (which I haven’t watched in it’s entireity yet) & the DEATH WISH 3 game which I tried a couple of times but got a beat down by a bunch of thugs in a prison cell. As I already mentioned, I’m not a huge fan of this RZ film but I do like it and this new version is much better because it removes lots of stupid dialog and makes us fear the Firefly family which is what Zombie should have done to begin with.
