I wonder what Wes would've thought of this. I like to think he'd think it was cool as hell. It's a great edit that delivers on its core premise almost to a fault.

Honestly, I downloaded this way back when it was originally released and although I thought the concept was cool I couldn't really get into it, and I didn't want to be a dick and give it 3/10 or something like that so I digressed...it obviously wasn't meant for me...

Anyway I rewatched this a couple of nights ago and I haven't seen Scream in a while and...I don't know, I just felt like I could accept a fanedit of Scream more than before (IMO scream1&2 are perfect movies) I like to echo another reviewer by saying that the faneditor should have cut more of the meta stuff, just to get rid of the satire and make it more giallo. It would have helped me separate this from Scream more and thereby enjoying it more. Also I thought that the music from the point Billy got “stabbed” became distracting. It’s hard to explain, it was like; here is the movie and here is the added music, and it didn’t match, that what I felt. Maybe it’s because I’m so used to how the original cut sounds like. That’s my two complains, the rest is awesome, especially the credits at the beginning (actually if I hadn’t seen the source before I would have probably crapped myself at that point. With it being vhs and all it just made it so spooky)

Such a simple idea yet so groundbreaking! More VHS fanedits that’s what we need!

All I can say is this a near perfect interpretation of an already great film. I'm excited to see more work from you.

Scream. Goblin. VHS. Tits. Neglify. Need I say more?

Of course not, saying "tits" might actually be enough for a lot of you, but I'll say more nonetheless: I appreciated the cutting back of the meta/self-aware stuff a LOT. For a lot of people that's what made this movie and saga stand out, but for me it overstayed its welcome real fast, even in the original. If anything, I wish some more of it would have been cut, maybe some lines from the video store scene, and definitely that "last scare resurrection" I've always hated.

Video/audio is of course crap, meaning it's perfect. I do agree about the music levels being too loud in detriment of the dialog, but I suppose it's the price one has to pay for working from a 2.0 source without isolated dialog. There's a high-pitched beeping sound in the background all along that initially worried me, but I was able to forget about it quite soon.

On, and in case I haven't mentioned it... TITS.

Goddammit man. I haven't reached for the tracking knob in 20 years and there I was like freakin Pavlov's dog about to do it again. Well done.

I love edits like this. You can tell Neglify clearly has an appreciation for the source material and this is not just an attempt to make a bad film better, but an attempt to reinterpret an already good movie. Starting points like this make for the best fanedits.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big horror movie buff, but I am a big fan of intelligently written films and Scream is certainly one of them. Scream bleeds the post-modern self-referential aesthetic of the mid to late 90s and holds up to this day. I haven't watched it in at least 10 years, so this was a great opportunity to do so.

Neglify's edit is a lot of fun. The added score, the overall feel, the additional scenes, everything about this edit worked great. It's an original, creative idea and Neglify clearly has the technical prowess to pull it off.

AV Quality: 10/10
Delightfully abysmal.

Visual Editing: 10/10
My eyes. The goggles do nothing.

Audio Editing: 10/10
I love 70s prog. Music to my ears. Could've been even louder.

Narrative: 10/10
The added back story made the movie even better. Also, boobs.

Enjoyment: 8/10
A great way to tell the story and highly enjoyable but I think it would be much better appreciated by horror movie buffs than someone like myself. Highly recommended for any horror movie fans or even just fans of original, innovative fanedits.
