Foreword: I haven't seen the original in sometime, which I prefer for watching edits and I also didn't review the changes (log) ahead of watching, which I also prefer. I looked at the edit list back when I downloaded the edit, but I like to not know what I'm walking into; I don't watch an edit for a few months or more after downloading it.

What I liked: I enjoyed some of the new music as well. It was engaging and had a stream lined story. The video game graphics and cut scenes were awesome, made the whole thing feel exciting.

What I didn't: The intro was very good at letting you know what was happening but between the fight scenes I didn't always understand the jump. If I was going to be nit-picky, I'd also mention that it is pointed out as 8-bit graphics but the graphics are 16-bit (at least I thought so judging them by the NES and SNES)...really a very small thing.

Overall: I really enjoyed this and it felt more ambitious than most edits, and for that reason if felt fresh and a very different experience than the original. I would recommend people check this out. I don't think this replaces the original but it does sit well alongside the original.

Extra: Keep up the good work. I think if you had the time and will you could make this even more compelling. Some of the scenes cut in were a lot lower quality, which is not your fault and made them standout. The new footage might sit along with the main footage better, if the main footage was slightly lower quality too? Just a thought.

I went into this having enjoyed the original but I hadn't watched it since I bought it five years ago. So I was a bit rusty on it though I remember really enjoying it but there being too much crammed into it.

What a clever edit this is. It paces this at a breakneck speed, with it feeling really like an old school game. Even more so than the original. I cannot recommend this enough; it was a really cool way to reimagine a cool movie.

I really enjoyed this edit. The original movie fell down in many ways as it tried to cram as much of the six books into a feature-length film. That One Guy manages to do something different here, using footage from the video game to make an edit of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, the narrative is of the fights and manages to do this pretty well.

The video game opening manages to avoid a lot of the early story and brings us up to speed wth the story at the start of the first battle. It does this comfortably and I really didn't feel like anything was missing.

There were a couple of moments where I wondered if there'd been a hard-edit or if it was like this originally. If I hadn't been watching in knowledge this was a fanedit, I certainly wouldn't have noticed. The audio editing was also subtle so even if there might have been issues, they were soft and mostly unnoticable.

The pacing of the edit was excellent, there was enough of the peripheral story to give it a real plot and I also enjoyed all of the bonuses included, including the alternate endings.

A thoroughly enjoyable edit.

Just a quick review, I enjoyed this immensely, I've seen scott pilgrim several times, with two extended edits on top of that, so logically it makes sense that this time I'd opt for a shorter cut.

I really liked the way this was carried out, skipping all the story to get to the fights with a little bit of this and that in between, the storyboard stills from the video game helped to flesh things out.

Like others have said the transitions sometimes seemed a bit... forced or abrupt and noticeable, but as this is one of those edits where the intention is not to make a better film, I am willing to overlook the obvious.

Its a faster paced sott pilgrim with more of a video game feel, that said I liked the inclusion of the other characters endings from the game, and the use of the game's soundtrack in the end credits.

very nice effort.

*NOTE: I discussed this edit with @That One Guy, and this review takes into account the fact that this was their first ever edit. If they ever remaster this one, I wanna be first in line to watch it.*

What a really unique idea! It reminds me a bit of the Tarantino Tales, fully abbreviating the story into less than an hour (plus a bunch of post credits alternate endings)! The quick setup, the video game inserts, the cute sound effects, the title cards, they all add up to a story cooking along at high speed.

Aside from some sound effects being overly loud, the audio and music changes are smoothly done. Where this edit suffers is purely in terms of visual editing: there are a few errant frames; lots of fading between scenes; black bars that can be removed; etc. Even still, many of the other cuts went entirely unnoticed by me so I think it's just a case of going back and tightening it up, smoothing over the transitions. There's also a slightly noticeable difference in some scene quality.

But listen, all of that is to say I had an absolute BLAST with this one, regardless of any issues. It's such a fun movie and this was a fun way to watch it! Your narrative choices were great and I laughed quite a bit at what you left in and your sound effects. Congrats on realizing a very unique idea!!
