A fun speed "run" so to speak, of "BTTF 1&2" in the time loop structure of "Run Lola Run" presented almost like Marty McFly's dream. I wasn't a big fan of the "Run Lola Run" soundtrack just because it's not my kind of music, but it fit the pace of the story and the "Mr. Sandman" song at the end was perfect. I highly recommend "Run Marty Run": another masterclass of visual editing by Blueyoda.

This is going to be basically incomprehensible unless you've seen both the original Back to the Future and Run Lola Run. However, if you remember how both of those plots unfold, then seeing the mashup here is a LOT of fun. Blueyoda very carefully chooses which frames to select for each "run" through of the past, so we don't get much lazy repetition but instead see mostly slightly different parts/versions of the same scenes. It means that a lot of story gets packed very efficiently into a short run time.

How does this work? What does it all mean? I don't really know and don't really care, to be honest. This is an exercise in raw editing prowess and style, not story. The real fun here for me was in seeing BTTF cut in the rapid editing style of RLR, and synced expertly with the fantastic soundtrack from that film. The quality of the footage is less-than-great in a few spots, and I could quibble about how well some of the photo-flash endings worked in terms of clarity, but this is 12ish minutes that every editor should watch imho.

(Oh, and I do love when people use the Video tab here!)

Holy crap, this was amazing! This is what fanediting is all about, I am in awe.

Others have said enough of the details, its just a solid fun ride. Everything is expected, and yet every moment is completely unexpected.

So good.

If you haven't seen BTTF before, you're gonna be lost. However, as a fan of the series, this was a real treat to watch. Also, interesting to note, this edit, in "Running One", achieves the rare feat of telling the original backstory of BTTF, before Marty showed up, with the next two Runnings roughly covering BTTF 2 & 1 respectively.

The editing on display here is amazing. This was really slick. Score was excellently chosen. The pace is insane (in a good way). Camera clicks/flashes were very well done. So many scenes were modified and stitched together across both films into this jam-packed edit, clearly a lot of work went into this and it really shows. Great job BlueYoda.

Supercharged reworking of "Back To The Future" is imaginative, inventive, best of all - fun!
Marty gets three chances to amend events that will impact his future.
The musical score has been wiped, and replaced with that of "Run Lola Run."
The narrative structure has been wiped, and replaced with that of "Run Lola Run."
This is a must-see edit for any aspiring faneditor!
Observe, learn, and broaden your ambitions, younglings.
