Review Detail

This is a nicely done "lean and mean" 90 minute fanedit of Kubrick's "The Shining". A/V quality was excellent. Some of the transitions were a little dodgy, the added music was a nice touch but not everything fit in perfectly. Story-wise it's much faster paced and gets to the terror without putting the viewer to sleep. The only problem with the way it's recut is that Dick Halloran shows up out of nowhere a half hour into it, randomly calling them and then going far out of his way to see if they're all right. I can buy it, but we needed to be introduced to this character earlier. I was fine with cutting out him explaining the shining to Danny, but his introduction and at least the first half of his kitchen tour should have been kept in.
