Brief Synopsis:
Rocketman: Long, Long Time Edition adds back 10 new, extended and alternate scenes, as well as incorperating 4 extended and alternate musical numbers. Over 30 minutes of new footage has been re-edited into the film, but 9 minutes has been cut out, as a lot of the musical numbers have been replaced with these new alternate versions.
Intention:
I wanted to dive a little deeper into the life of Elton John, as Problem Eliminator has already done a fanfix that only adds back the AIDS subplot that was nixed from the final film which I thought was pretty essential for a biopic about a gay man in the 80s. It's only briefly mentioned in the closing moments of the film with a text box saying he founded a charity, I thought it'd be nice to at least bring it up a little earlier than that. A lot of the other scenes I happened to love too, so they've almost all been inserted back into the film, besides 2 redundant scenes.
Other Sources:
- Rocketman (2019) Blu-Ray: 4 longer/alternate musical numbers, and 8 of the deleted scenes came from here
- iTunes Bonus Features - 2 other exclusive deleted scenes were taken from here
- Music from the Motion Picture - Thank You For All Your Loving and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road were used to transition into deleted scenes
- SFX: Some sounds including Pee in bottle and Bar Empty Main Room Ambience Crowd
Special Thanks:
Problem Eliminator for showing how he incorperated the blood test deleted scene, and for making an amazing, but different edit overall.

A seamless edit and a must see. I really feel like this edit should be like a bonus cut for a special edition release. This is one of those edits that takes the original a step up and an more fulfilling for any elton john fan.

I watched the original movie in theaters which was okay but was kinda both underwhelmed and disappointed by this movie thinking it was going to be the next bohemian rhapsody only to realize it was just an adaptation to his musical. Another problem of mine was that the movie was not long enough and its story about Elton seeking real love was a bit too simple for a biopic movie but Bobson Dugnutt has done it again with this extended edition that not only fleshed out the movie but feels more complete than ever before.

I was obsessed with Rocketman the year it came out. Watched more than 20 time by this point. One of my favorite movies ever and favorite biopic by far. So naturally I would be excited to check this edit out to see the longest and fullest version possible. In my opinion, the theatrical version has near perfect flow to it. It doesn't let the magic fade and constantly intensifies it. And even though this is not really the case with the extended edit, watching the movie with all these deleted scenes included is a blast. I don't think this one is a better version for the first viewing, but if you already like the film - it's a MUST WATCH!

A marvelous edit truly bringing out the best version of the film. I felt the theatrical cut had pacing issues at points that this edit solves in spades. Gorgeous video and audio quality. The new scenes are integrated seamlessly.

The additions made a fun movie more fun. I do enjoy that this movie was advertised as a fantasy as opposed to a biopic as Bohemian Rhapsody was. This film used the music to tell a story where BR was fast and loose with facts and timeline. Anyway I downloaded this and watched it right away. It held my attention and I was entertained which is all I ask from a movie. And as I have posted here before I am not into the techie aspects of an edit. I just enjoy the work and effort as well as a different POV on a story. And I have yet to be disappointed by a Bobson edit. This is a welcome addition to my film and music library.
